I do not know whom Kirby will start but he said he would take today’s Open Practice into account in that decision. Everyone at the Open Practice wants it to be Jacob Eason. Our wide receivers looked very good today. Jacob Eason threw one Interception and Brice Ramsey threw 3. Greyson Lambert threw a TD pass but so too did Jacob Eason. Honestly there was not enough today to say whom should start – all that was decided all last season and nothing happened today to change that as I saw it today or last year.
I sure hope it cools-off before the season starts. It was awful. I can not imagine it any hotter. I am recovered now but I think I had 9 cokes. Seriously. I don’t even want to see another coke.
Greyson Lambert just aggravates me. He’s like Hutson Mason. Or Joe Tereshinski III. Or Joe Cox. I thought it was a mistake starting him last year. And Hutson Mason the year before. Those guys are not quarterbacks. The NFL is not interested in even seeing those guys practice. No one today was interested in seeing Greyson Lambert either.
If Mark Richt were here I think he would practice Brice Ramsey with the # 1 unit one-third the time between now and game-time which is by the way 3 weeks and 6 days after today. And I think Mark Richt would start Greyson Lambert.
There might not have been enough today to make a decision on QB but I see that as a problem more for Greyson Lambert who has not shown me a damn thing in 2 years’ time now than for Jacob Eason.
That’s what I felt about today ‘Tween the Hedges.
Now recovering I would have liked it better if Dominick Sanders had not intercepted Jacob Eason and I know that Mark Richt would have used that to name Greyson Lambert his starter. But he would not have had this Open Practice so that no one could second-guess him on QB. He would have said that he and his offensive coordinator would choose but we all know that the offensive coordinator does not choose the QB. Either Jacob Eason or Greyson Lambert would beat North Carolina and Brice Ramsey would lose to them is what I saw.
Well what was the Open Practice like since not many came-out ? I thought more would be here. It was damn hot. Were you born on the sun ? It felt over a hundred and those of us who came today cheered Jacob Eason who DID play with the # 1 unit. Brice Ramsey is not # 3 at QB – he is not in the mix and should not be getting further reps with the # 1 unit after today. He’s cooked. Greyson Lambert ? He’s not Jacob Eason. Nick Chubb looks # 1 to me. We did not tackle but he and Trent Thompson looked great. Elijah Holyfield from Woodward is “The Real Deal”. I had questions about that in my mind. No more. Tyler Catalina will start every game.
I thought the grass looked loose today. We waited way too long needlessly to not have planted it long before now. This was tough on it today too. We all walked all over it. All day long. Will it recover and actually be grounded finally a month from now ? It should not have come down to that either. We have to practice on it I think twice more too while it still is (1) not firmly planted yet and (2) has to recover from the slaughtering of it today by something like 5000 of us.
Someone is to blame for this grass not being ready yet and for that I heard no beeping footballs. I hold Kirby responsible for both. He has enough staff that neither of these should I have witnessed yesterday. I thought Kirby did a good job otherwise and loved his attention to the practice from the middle of the field as he did all day. Good job on that !
We all cheered for Jacob Eason. It might have been Fan Day Open Practice but all of us today only came to cheer-on Jacob Eason. I see today as Jacob Eason Day. I see what Kirby means now about everyone having our notions on this and that he is not considering what we think at all. I mean there was not 1 person today who was cheering Greyson Lambert.
