We knew all this coming into this season losing 22 after last year as seniors who everyone of the 22 started games for Mark Richt.
So college football teams are made up of Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores and Freshmen.
If you have no seniors or juniors then your sophomores and freshmen have to be starters.
Kirby failed to ready his freshmen.
Now he is finding he has no choice but to play them against
# 17 North Carolina
# 14 Ole Miss
# 9 vols
# 18 Florida
# 30 Auburn
# 31 Georgia Bulldogs latest AP Poll in others who got votes category today
But Kirby wasted the Spring Practice of those freshmen who showed-up early to get prepared to play because everyone in the nation knew Georgia had no seniors or juniors like 93 other teams do this season.
Then Kirby wasted all Fall Practice of a very fine recruiting class ranked # 8 best in the nation with loads of help at all positions – 10 freshmen whom I predicted would be starters for Kirby 2016.
Kirby all along has continued to stonewall the press about the freshmen from the get-go to today.
Instead here we are. The butt of Mark Bradley stories today that Georgia should have won.
Really Mark Bradley ?
We did nothing as players or coaches that caused us to lose to Ole Miss down 45 to nothing last week or nothing as players or coaches that caused us to lose to the vols allowing 3 touchdowns in the 4th Quarter ?
No Mark Bradley. Sorry you’re just wrong again as always. It’s congratulations to vols.
Not Mark Bradley that Georgia should have won the game.
No we should not have.
When you send in a passing play from your 5-yard line up 24-21 from 7-yards deep in the end zone on 2nd and 11 with 2 minutes and 56 seconds left Mark Bradley you deserve to lose with the vols having all 3 of their time-outs.
Jim Chaney runs that play with Brian Herrien and we win.
When you were not even in the game at the time and run on the field of play to celebrate taking your helmet off when Jacob Eason again threw a TD Pass with 10 seconds left to be ahead of the # 9 vols 31-28 and then step over the line of scrimmage on the Kick-Off offside and Mark Richt’s recruited Kicker Kicks-Off only 48 yards instead of 17 more yards on the Kick-Off as good Kickers do then you deserve to lose.
And lose again 2 weeks in a row we did.
So we’re unranked and the # 75 team across the board really in every single aspect of the 2016 team.
And why is that ?
Because Mark Richt returned only 2 seniors and 6 juniors on our team’s 2-Deep this year and yet Kirby purposely refused to play 10 freshmen who should have been practicing with the # 1 unit all Spring and all Fall.
And instead has redshirted Ben Cleveland his # 1 Offensive Linemen recruit with all the problems we have 2016 on our OL. This is beyond comprehension.
And has allowed now all season for Mecole Hardman Jr. to play 2 plays on Special Teams only.
“I want Mecole Hardman Jr. to concentrate only solely on defensive back and when he is good enough at that then we can talk about him catching some passes for us or returning some kick-offs for us or maybe even running a couple of Wild Dawg formations for us.” This is what Kirby said when the press asked so many times about Mecole Hardman Jr. and why he had not had 1 single snap after several games when he was considered the # 1 athlete in the United States of America by EVERYONE.
Kirby is a poor judge of talent. Mighty poor.
These are just 2 of the examples of how mistreated every one of Kirby’s Signees are this year as Freshmen.
Yet Kirby sends his Freshmen this year out there unprepared and not practicing with the team at the position he wants them to play and hey go beat # 9 vols # 14 Ole Miss # 17 North Carolina # 18 Florida # 30 Auburn.
Kirby that makes no sense boy.
This is what you were destined to have as your starters this season Kirby.
You needed to have been here before January 12 and maybe then wake-up that you just had no choice but to play the freshmen practice the freshmen with the # 1 unit prepare the freshmen build the confidence up of the freshmen and get them familiar with their teammates and their teammates with them.
This is all on Kirby.
Look Mark Richt is gone and his losing ways of 4 losses per year for 8 years including 12 unranked teams and including # 45 vs top 15 teams game and # 42 vs top 25 teams season. You know ? The Big Games for 8 years from 2008 to 2015.
What he left Kirby is what he left Kirby.
Kirby is at fault for not being able to determine from January 12 until now that he had to start 10 freshmen 4 sophomores 6 juniors and 2 seniors.
So now all of sudden, unprepared, he is being forced to send these very guys out there finally only now. Guys like Brian Herrien. Good Lord. Brendan Douglas Mr. Fumble was never going to be the starter with Nick Chubb only 9 months prior with damage to 3 ligaments. You don’t run him 38 plays game 1. Sony Michel broke his arm fooling around July 4th on a very dangerous ATV. He was never going to be ready September 3 when this season began. You know that I shared I have had many broken arms and that at no time was I ever ready to play again in less than 2 months.
Kirby knew this.
Kirby has had broken arms. We all have – judging by myself.
It happens. You put your arms out to brace yourself. You break them. They are not legs which you walk on so when you brace yourself with your arms all your weight on them they break. I broke my arms both of them many times. You can break your arm if you run too fast and land awkwardly tripping on someone or something. I know this.
Especially on any speed impact.
Brian Herrien had to start September 3.
I told you all this from the very day he signed with Kirby that Brian Herrien would rush for over 1000 yards this season and that he would get starts for Kirby at TB 2016.
On July 4 I told you Brian Herrien had to start September 3.
Kirby knew all this.
Kirby made these decisions not because he is stupid but because he is stubborn hard-headed headstrong demands to be in total charge of everything and biased against freshmen.
Ain’t no freshmen going to start for me Vincent J. Dooley.
Kirby was not even alive when freshmen were not allowed to play. His dad might have taught Kirby this bias.
Did Jacob Eason throw the pass to Riley Ridley with 10 seconds to go for us to be up 31-28 – well, did he ?
Sure he did.
I told you all Spring Practice and all Fall Practice that he in fact indeed exactly precisely would.
And he has as I predicted.
As I guaranteed Ben Cleveland.
And Mecole Hardman Jr.
And Brian Herrien.
And Solomon Kindley.
And Riley Ridley.
And Isaac Nauta.
And Charlie Woerner.
And Elijah Holyfield.
And Michall Carter.
And Julian Rochester.
And Mitchell Wasson as Kirby’s ONLY Place Kicker he recruited here.
This is ALL on just only Kirby.
Now that our season is OVER Kirby is off to South Carolina 8 p.m. Saturday night.
Discouraged freshmen in tow.
Morose and testy freshmen, coaches on Kirby’s staff, the press, and all the fans are quite disappointed Kirby has failed to recognize quickly who is his best talented player at a position and get him on the field.
Kirby told us he would. Kirby said : “I will determine our best 50-60 guys and get them on the field and get the ball to them.”
He has done anything but.
They the ones who have to turn the season around now.
They the ONLY hope.
Duh bloody duh.
The deflowering of Kirby complete we must get on with it for this is a 13-game season for us and 15-game season for the top teams which we are not one of this season.
Playing less talented seniors instead of more talented freshmen is something we can look forward to again next year as Kirby is too set in his ways to learn from me this one very valuable lesson about this wasted 2016 season.
Wasted because Kirby wanted to waste it.
1 blog writer wrote today that Kirby did this intentionally so that he could say see how much we improved year 1 to year 2 ?
See the progression of our team ?
Kirby wanted to waste this 2016 season not because he wanted to lose to make next year look better by comparison – to control expectations of This Great Bulldog Nation – but because Kirby would rather lose than play freshmen.
That was his choice. None other.
Start-out knowing 10 freshmen had to get starts for Kirby year one, he prepared NONE of them all Spring and all Fall and only now turns to Brian Herrien and says ok son go on now get out there beat # 9 vols. Then just when Brian Herrien is doing just that, Kirby by himself, takes him out of the game. I watched Kirby call that on 2nd and 11 from our 5-yard line and Kirby sent in 2 small guys instead. And then instead of running him, our only hope on 2nd and 11 from our 5-yard line, Jim Chaney compounds that with a pass play he calls, ahead 24-21 with 2 minutes and 56 seconds in the game.
Of course I do not believe that for one moment that a man as smart as Kirby would think he has yet another throw-away season as his fired predecessor last year and the year before for which then Kirby got to get his dream job with no experience ever anywhere on offense or special teams.
Go be in charge of it all Kirby Offense Defense and Special Teams.
So he bothers to show-up January 12 and never has yet got to the point where he realized that against # 9 vols, he would be relying upon Brian Herrien.
I saw it July 4.
Said it July 4.
Go look it up.
3 plays cost us that game :
- The Play Call to Pass on 2nd and 11 from our 5-yard line ahead 24-21 with 2 minutes 56 seconds and vols all 3 time-outs. OFFENSE
- The Kick-Off Special Teams after Jacob Eason threw the TD pass to a freshman WR who caught it with 10 seconds to go when our kicker kicked the ball only 48 yards 17 yards shy of a good kick-off and the 2 penalties on the kick-off. SPECIAL TEAMS
- The Bad Defense when we got no pressure with 4 seconds them at our then 43-yard line – just like Mark Richt did against Georgie tek yellowjackets when they last at our house too. No difference whatsoever. Instead of 8 long players with great vertical leap and pressure on QB from 3 freshmen obviously since we don’t have any pass rushers Mark Richt left us, Kirby instead sent-out his nearly intact standard defense. A bunch of guys who have done nothing but lose for Mark Richt instead of freshmen whom Kirby did not prepare for this but should have and could have. And we lost. Because although Kirby says he has prepared for 1 second on the clock opponent at mid-field us ahead and them unable to kick the winning field goal Kirby in fact had a bad defense called for that play his standard defense the # 75 Defense made-up of guys who were not freshmen. DEFENSE
All 3 aspects of any football team Offense, Defense and Special Teams mucked it up on these 3 plays one by each costing us the game.
So no Mark Bradley we did not deserve to win but deserved to lose because we gave the game away on Offense, Defense and Special Teams leaving us with nothing to say other than Congratulations to vols Mark Bradley – not that we should have won and deserved to win.
Be a man Mark Bradley for once in your life and call it like it is.
Not that you ever played this game and really obviously therefore don’t know anything about this game – but basketball Mark Bradley. I played basketball too letterman as well so I recognize you know more about basketball.
And just why is it that with all this help Kirby himself recruited here to Georgia across the board offense defense and special teams that these 3 plays lost the game for us ? Because of Kirby’s bias that : “Ain’t no freshmen going to play for me.”
It’s Kirby’s fault.
It’s no one’s fault but Kirby’s.
The best we can hope for now is that we play a team like # 19 in the Final AP Poll in a meaningless bowl game again as Mark Richt every year.
The season is shot.
Shot in the foot.
And why is that ?
