“You might check to see where Mark Richt’s 2018 recruiting class is compared to Kirby Smart’s. Ain’t even close. In 15 years at UGA, Richt had 13 Top 10 recruiting classes according to 247Sports, and the other two were 11th and 12th. After 15 years at UGA, Richt had 145 wins. Our legendary Vince Dooley had 115. Dooley’s 17th season proved to elevate him into the realm of the elite, winning 44 games over the next four seasons. His graph of hills and valleys was very similar to Richt’s, who had superb teams in ’02 (SEC champs), ’07 (2nd in the nation), and ’12 (5 yards away from a national championship). 2017 would have been the 5th year in that cycle. I fully expect him to have another championship team at Miami this season. Ain’t so sure about smart. Like the guy said, he needs to be real Smart to win football games, and he ain’t done that yet. Could easily have lost three more in ’16. And don’t expect a happy trip to South Bend next month.”
Tom Dial sir Mark Richt is gone. If you want to root for him move to Miami. Mark Richt was 9-4 at Miami of Florida a particularly far easier conference to win in there in the ACC than here in The Mighty SEC Tom.
This 9-4 was what Mark Richt did his last entire 8 years here for which he was summarily FIRED.
73-32 was Mark Richt’s last 8 years here Tom.
4 losses per season for 8 entire years and so Mark Richt was FIRED.
Got it Tom ?
Of Mark Richt’s 32 losses his last 8 years here 18 were to the 24 top 15 time of game teams Mark Richt faced. This was good for # 45 nationally and like you say Tom Dial with the average # 7 recruiting class for # 11 all-time UGA Georgia Bulldogs.
Of Mark Richt’s 32 losses he last entire 8 years here Tom Dial 12 were to unranked teams in either the AP or Coaches’ Polls time of game or for the season. Again as you say Tom Dial with the average # 7 recruiting class.
I make no excuses for Kirby Smart.
You certainly do for Mark Richt.
Get over it.
