So he came and toured the facilities and TURNED US DOWN

In case you missed how that went.

“In the end I felt like we have not reached our full potential as a basketball program.” Greg McGarity AD UGA Georgia Bulldogs men’s basketball. Well you NEVER will with the antiquated old out-of-date POOR facility of the Stegesaurus which has NOT held an NCAA men’s Tournament Game since 1971 and for GOOD REASON.

We have BOTH our hands tied behind our backs trying to recruit in THIS GREAT STATE with ALL THIS TALENT HERE because Ole Miss can go build a new gym and The University of Georgia can NOT.

That simple enough for you ?

Our gymnasium is NOT competitive has not been competitive and WILL NOT BE until such time as we BUILD US A PROPER GYM for men’s and women’s sports.

Wake up.

Anybody who thinks for one God Damn Moment that the Classic City will turn into the freaking DUNK CITY with all this talent in THIS STATE by simply hiring the right coach is out of his mind. You’re going to have to build us a new gym.

If I were a coach I would tell you that you have to have it in my contract that I get a new gym within 2 years or I will NOT come coach there.  It would be part of my contract.  There is no excuse for us to sit on all this cash and let our players leave this state to play in far better facilities everywhere else.

The problem with our men’s and women’s basketball programs is and has been TALENT.  We can’t recruit to a gym 54 years old and not designed for basketball even way back then.

No coach can.

Don’t FOOL yourself that a new coach fixes our underlying problem.

Build us a new gym and then the players and coaches will show-up to this Flagship School in this HOTBED of talent in-state.

Anything else and ANY other conversation or consideration BESIDES BUILDING US A NEW GYM WITH ALL THIS GOD DAMN CASH WE HAVE is putting the cart ahead of the horse.

I now return you to your bullshit on the topic.

NEW GYM.

The kids do not want to play at the Stegesaurus which has not hosted an NCAA men’s Tournament Game since 1971 which is not in 47 years.  It does NOT matter who your coach is men or women.  Not really.  Give us a new gym and top coaches will follow.  Top players will stay here.  They will want to play in our new gym.  Ole Miss can use their SEC monies and build a new gym and The University of Georgia can not ?

3-3-2018

How is RPI # 66 going to go to the BIG DANCE Georgia Men’s Basketball 18 February 2018 ? Answer is it is NOT. Lady Bulldogs RPI # 29 will play in the NCAA Tournament. 28 better women’s teams but we’ll at least play in that one.

http://realtimerpi.com/rpi_356_Men.html

Our men LOST to :

San Diego State a team without a winning record 7-7 in its own cruddy little conference.

UMass is 4-10 in their conference and they beat us too.

South Carolina is 5-9 in The SEC not winning record overall and they beat us as well.

Vandy 5-9 SEC 11-16 overall beat our Men’s Basketball Team 2018.  No excuse for this.

If you don’t know how to CLICK this URL Link and see this you will NEVER learn about basketball.

http://realtimerpi.com/rpi_356_Men.html

If you want to see the women well 29 better teams ends our season rather early too now doesn’t it ?

We need a new gym.

If we had that we could recruit better talent in-state here and win some of these games.

Here’s the women’s # 29 RPI :

SUNDAY 11 February 2018 Basketball Game at vols 24535 capacity Thompson–Boling Arena 3 p.m. today SEC Network Channel 792 Comcast same exact time as 2018 Advance Auto Parts Clash NASCAR FS1 Comcast Channel 875 FS1HD Daytona Beach temperature 85.

NASCAR’s first event 2018 is open to the 17 drivers who won a pole 2017 season.

vols do NOT deserve to have a better gym than The University of Georgia.  It is BAD ENOUGH that our players from HERE have to go up there to play in a real gym but for us to sit on the MOST CASH in The SEC whilst providing our players both men and women the Stegesaurus instead is just sad.

The Lady Dawgs today are 21-3 on the season and have a good chance to beat vols even on the road.

vols # 11 Georgia UGA Lady Bulldogs number 18.

9-2 vs The SEC Georgia Lady Dawgs.

Our piece of shit gym is now 54 years old and was designed by the Agricultural School to be a cow palace.  It is too small and too poorly designed to be fixed by putting lipstick on that pig.  And yet here sits UGA with the MOST CASH in The SEC once again 2018 and all the other schools with NEW GYMS but not us.

Built in 1964 by Ag School on their campus.

The Stegesaurus replaced Woodruff Hall with a seating capacity of 3000 built in 1923 and only seats 10523 capacity.  While Woodruff Hall lasted only 22 years The Stegesurus has stood there as an impediment to our men and women basketball programs for 54 years.

The kids in this great state play a mean game of basketball but categorically for over 50 years have REFUSED to play basketball in this crappy-assed “gym.”

Us with all this cash.

NCAA men’s basketball tournament last held a game here in 1971 and that is 47 years NCAA has deemed our gym UNSUITABLE.

Lady Diamond Dawgs have won 3 straight against ranked opponents and # 25 are 4-1 on the season

6 batters are batting over 400 on the season.

Team batting average is .418

Opponents all of whom are ranked teams are batting only .217

We average over 10 runs a game.

Our fielding is BETTER than our opponents which it was NOT last year.

Our pitching has a team ERA of 1.97

Our opponent’s pitching has a team ERA of 11

2-11-2018

Both men and women Georgia Basketball are 7-1 with schedule strength averaging the # 250 opponent going NOWHERE. Women blown-out by Texas by 28 points in the only game all season. No show here at our house. SEC Big XII challenge. FAILED. Women # 51 as top 5 program ALL-TIME. Men # 74 with one good opponent played as well and LOST as well. Game coming-up against Georgie tek Sunday and Tuesday next week. Better not lose to them.

http://www.realtimerpi.com/rpi_356_Men.html

I still maintain that if we built our basketball programs a proper NEW GYM like EVERY OTHER SEC school is doing with their SEC monies then we would recruit better talent and keep it at home here in Georgia like we do in football.

We need a new gym to be competitive.

We have little talent in basketball and it has BEEN THIS WAY forever.

# 74 men

# 51 men

RPI is NOT competitive.

We should and HAVE TO BE better than this bullshit

Jere Morehead : “I think our prospects for the future are bright and I don’t have any reason to think that we’ve got any systemic problems that have to be addressed at this point.” Hello. Wake-up. Football program TOTALLY out of control and has been ENTIRE Greg McGarity era averaging MORE than 4 losses per season 8 full years and NOT getting better with recruiting 2018 down now that everyone sees what a JERK Kirby is to his players.

Then there are ALL the other sports and NONE of them are doing well either.  A girls’ tennis coach for a year is NOT the A.D. of my choice.  Prop him up if you wish Jere Morehead sir but you are just bringing this ALL DOWN on you too.  And what next gaffe will Kirby pull with the press ?

I’m sorry Greg McGarity should be FIRED before he does ANY FURTHER DAMAGE to the coaches which he has been WRONG ON right down the line from the get-go.

We’ve NEVER been this bad in all our sports.  We can’t HIRE PROVEN HEAD COACHES Jere Morehead sir ?

Someone who knows how to develop and implement an Offensive Game Strategy ?

In ANY Sport Jere Morehead sir ?

And where the hell is our new Gym Jere Morehead sir ?

You can support publically Mike Adam$’ hires as Athletic Directors but I will NOT.

Starting January 1949 Georgia Hoops’ Dawgs have been ranked 66 times in the AP Poll 66 times in 1100 polls over the 68 years which is just outside the Top 25 % Percentile of the 351 Division 1 NCAA men’s basketball teams while the state of Georgia is one of the LARGEST PRODUCERS of college basketball players who go on to the NBA.

Kentucky has been ranked in 829 of the possible 1100 AP Poll Top 25 rankings the last 68 years starting 1949. That is # 1 in the nation AP Poll rankings All-Time after 1949. Better than North Carolina and Duke and better than UCLA. Kansas and Indiana are the next 2. Then comes Louisville Arizona and Syracuse with Cincinnati rounding-out the top 10 all-time in AP Poll rankings with 393 times Cincinnati has been ranked in an AP Poll during the seasons starting 1949.

Of course BASKETBALL started LONG BEFORE the AP Poll finally came out 1949. James Naismith invented basketball for college players in 1891 to keep college athletes in-shape. I lettered in basketball and in Track and Field so basketball was a Winter Sport designed by James Naismith to keep his Track and Field college athletes in shape at Springfield College Massachusetts.

Hundreds of colleges started competing against each other within a year. Vanderbilt University in downtown Nashville Tennessee began playing competitive collegiate basketball games all over in 1893.

There are 351 teams in NCAA College Basketball Men in 32 Conferences which this AP Poll covers.

Of the 351 Division 1 NCAA Men’s College Basketball Programs The University of Georgia Bulldogs are # 92 All-Time with our 66 times ranked in the AP Poll starting 1949.

So that would put us almost inside the Top 25 % of the 351 teams.

http://collegebasketball.ap.org/top-100

So we are almost in the Upper Quartile. Nearly in the 75 % Percentile. A fraction off that. .2621 but we could significantly improve upon that were we to make a run of being ranked in the AP Poll which one would think Georgia Bulldogs could muster if we just only built ourselves a NEW GYM commensurate with our stature as one of the nation’s top colleges by ALL MEASURES thereof.

And when you consider that the state of Georgia is one of the largest producers of so much basketball talent here in this state it just makes no sense that Greg McGarity would sit on $77 million dollars in cash WE ALL DONATED TO HIM instead of building us a new gym.

Basketball players flock to others of the 351 collegiate NCAA Division 1 Basketball Programs FROM THE STATE OF GEORGIA because Greg McGarity REFUSES to build us a new gym with ALL THESE MONIES we DONATE to him to do just that with.

They are lured elsewhere from Georgia because our old antiquated small out-of-date lipstick on a pig cow palace has not hosted a men’s NCAA basketball tournament since 1971.

50 years since the NCAA Basketball Tournament which has the Final 4 today held one of their NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament Big Dance Games at the Stegesaurus.

It amazes me that any young lady or young man would want to play in that God Damn piece of shit Stegesaurus.  I hate the place as much as they do.

There are 120 NBA players from the state of Georgia and by comparison the state of Alabama only has 60 – half as many.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/friv/high_schools.cgi?country=US&state=GA

http://www.basketball-reference.com/friv/high_schools.cgi?country=US&state=AL

And South Carolina only has 20 NBA players in the whole entire state :

http://www.basketball-reference.com/friv/high_schools.cgi?country=US&state=SC

The state of Tennessee only has 81 NBA players :

http://www.basketball-reference.com/friv/high_schools.cgi?country=US&state=TN

Louisiana only has 88 NBA players :

http://www.basketball-reference.com/friv/high_schools.cgi?country=US&state=LA

I am sorry we need a new gym.

There are 66 NBA players from Atlanta the 8th most of any metro area in the nation and frankly Atlanta is a more sprawling city than the others whose metro areas are more clearly defined while we continue unabated in our growth as a city in all directions. Is this a case against MARK FOX that he is not getting these players ? Or is this a case that because our Stegesaurus has not even hosted an NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament game since 1971 ? That is the culprit of why OUR BEST PLAYERS both men and women do NOT come to UGA to play basketball. We need a new gym. Instead we let little bitty schools build one and steal our players who prefer to play in their new gym like we don’t care about basketball. Sure we do. We’re just cheap and are PAYING for it.

Clearly our gym is holding us back.

Obviously.

46 years we have not even played one single men’s NCAA Tournament game at The University of Georgia’s gymnasium yet the UGA annual budget now stands right at $ 2 billion annually.  We can afford a new gym and it would greatly assist all sports and all students for us to build one.

And it would greatly enhance our recruiting in both men’s and women’s sports because they would be coming to visit us at our new gym.

The facts are very clear that Atlanta is a tremendous hotbed of NBA talent yet Georgia NEVER HAS gotten this talent in our lifetimes.  That is not Mark Fox’s fault.

Why can’t we have a new gym then like all the other schools in the United States of America ? Why are we so far behind other smaller colleges who do NOT get $ 150 million dollars in Sports’ Revenue August 31, 2016 ? The University of Georgia is set to receive about $ 50 million of our nearly $ 150 million revenue here in the next 3 weeks August 31, 2016 from The SEC itself. The 14 member institutions of The SEC are set to receive approximately $50 million dollars each in late August 2016 distribution this year including local media packages, the TV rights with multiple Network agreements The SEC has hammered-out, the NCAA payments of about a million per school slated for Academic Enhancements, post-season bowl games, The SEC Championship Game, College Football Play-Off Revenue, NCAA Championships’ Revenue, March Madness Revenue, The SEC Basketball Tournament Revenue, the amounts retained by each SEC member school in Bowl Games’ Revenue, the supplemental surplus distribution, and the Revenue that Georgia gets each year from its student fees as a Subsidy to our annual Revenue of $ 3.2 million per year which some schools do not collect. The SEC will retain what would be another $ 6 million dollars per SEC member school to operate The SEC. Obviously The SEC payment August 31, 2016 of about $ 50 million including these revenues listed here-in represents ONLY one-third UGA’s annual Sports’ Revenue of $ 150 million dollars August 31, 2016. Last year The University of Georgia had an annual budget amount of $ 1.5 billion dollars.

The Lady Bulldogs with RPI # 24 vs. Strength of Schedule # 23 can emerge after SEC Championship Tournament no worse than 21-9 and 9-8 vs. SEC teams with BIG WINS over RPI # 19, 21, 22, & 29 putting us solidly in the NCAA Tournament. In fact, we are 1 MORE Big Win away from being ranked in AP & Coaches Polls. The SEC has 8 teams solidly in The NCAA Women’s Division I Basketball Championship Tournament with 2 more on the bubble at # 52 & # 61. The SEC is ranked The # 1 Women’s Basketball Conference obviously this year. We only have 5 ladies who shoot the ball well and only 3 ladies who make their free throws. We foul way too much but we do play well on Defense, rebound well and we do not turn the ball over. We are deep although Mackenzie Engram has missed now 7 Consecutive Games. Our Ladies have been in 31 of all the 34 previous NCAA Women’s Division I Basketball Championship Tournaments and this will be 32 of the All-Time 35 since it started for Women in 1982 – this is # 2 All-Time in the Nation ! We also have been ranked 522 times in the AP Poll which is also # 2 All-Time although none this year so getting ranked this season is VERY IMPORTANT to our senior class which includes 4 of our 5 starters and 1 bench player Terry Godwin’s sister. We are a Top 5 Women’s Basketball Program All-Time. We have had 20 WNBA Draft Picks since 1999 which is # 4 in the nation and have 3 more who will be after this season. 65 in a row – every 4-year letterman ever here – have graduated for 36 consecutive seasons and this will be 37. We will have another Academic All-America being named this season as well to bring the total to 4 of our Lovely Lady Bulldogs’ Basketball Players who have been named Academic All-America ! We have 86 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament Wins All-Time so we are EXPECTED to add to that this season. Our ladies are embraced nationally as a Consensus Top 5 program on and off the court in the classrooms and the community and our fans are the # 1 fans of this sport we do so well in. We continue to develop this season again top talent obviously and the very top student-athletes. We have 4 Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame. One of only 3 American Athletes who have Won Gold Medals at 4 Different Olympics the Most Decorated Basketball Player in Olympics’ history. 1 of 4 American All-Time Women’s FIBA Federation International Basketball Amateur Hall of Fame. In 2007 we opened “Georgia Coliseum Training Facility” a $30 million dollar 120,000 square feet nation’s largest basketball practice facility where 3 years in a row now this year the Atlanta Hawks do their pre-season practice – most impressive in the nation. We average over 24 wins a season All-Time also Top 5 program in the nation. 11 eleven SEC Titles. This will be our 30th 20-Win Season with 3 more victories. Every game is on TV and Every game can be heard LIVE on FM Radio including in Atlanta on 103.7 WXKT-FM even in your car. I thought you should know. Our men are a different story. Both would benefit from a new gym in retaining in-state talent as well as attracting out-of-state talent and we are BEHIND in supporting our teams with this new gym with the over $150 million revenue annually our teams make us. Our “Georgia Excellence Campaign” has this new gym as their # 1 next goal.

If we built a big enough new gym, we could force the Atlanta Hawks to play 1 NBA game a year at our new gym in return for what we’ve done for them 3 years in a row now.  In fact, there could be MORE NBA and WNBA games here if we do this correctly, as well as hosting NCAA Men’s and Women’s Division I Basketball Championship Tournament games, Final 4, and SEC Championships as well and for others of our 23 sports – all of whom would benefit from a new gym with this annual in excess now of $ 150 million dollars revenue our sports teams at UGA now generate for us as an annuity. It is the # 2 ROI we could put this annuity toward – primarily basketball – ranking only behind the ROI for football as a destination for this in excess now of $ 150 million dollar annual annuity.

There is more meat in this 1 blog post than in all the other blog posts combined today by all Georgia blogs and newspaper stories.  This also is the # 1 blog post all-time about The Lady Bulldogs today.  By these standards this post is short only 794 words, fully documented and 100 percent accurate as you have become accustomed to here – as has been PROVEN – including my predictions which have been uncannily correct as well – some to your personal chagrin !  So I offer-up this Super Sunday before the game.

The Lady Bulldogs – Top 5 Basketball Program All-Time:

1-19-2016

SEC set to share revenue of staggering two-thirds of a billion SEC Revenue dollars after August 31, 2016. The SEC kept 14 % of that SEC Revenue last year or $ 72 million. We are SO FAR behind other colleges and their gyms which enhance The University and all the students.

Nearly two-thirds of a billion dollars is SEC Conference revenue sharing figure for the 2015-2016 fiscal year ending August 31 and of that figure it is expected that The SEC itself will share with itself about $85 million whereas last year The SEC shared with itself $ 72 million dollars.  This makes The SEC the most valuable conference by a long wide margin.  Easily the most valuable conference.

The 14 member institutions of The SEC are set to receive approximately between $ 40 and $50 million dollars each in late August 2016 distribution this year.

The total sports’ revenue for UGA is $ 150 million 2016 fiscal year of which The SEC payments are one-third the total we get.   The total includes local media packages, the TV rights with multiple Network agreements The SEC has hammered-out, the NCAA payments of about a million per school slated for Academic Enhancements, post-season bowl games, The SEC Championship Game, College Football Play-Off Revenue, NCAA Championships’ Revenue, March Madness Revenue, The SEC Basketball Tournament Revenue, the amounts retained by each SEC member school in Bowl Games’ Revenue, the supplemental surplus distribution.  Georgia gets each year from its student fees as a Subsidy to our annual Revenue $3,200,000 per year which some schools do not collect.  Tickets and donations/fees we pay to buy tickets and marketing revenue for some of our sports make up the majority of the balance of approximately $ 100 million for fiscal year ending August 31 of 2016 upon which the between $ 40 million and $ 50 million The SEC will revenue share with Georgia 2016 fiscal year.

The SEC will retain what would be another $ 6 million dollars maybe per SEC member school to operate The SEC in its next check to us.

These are staggering sums August 31, 2016 for The University of Georgia and will drive up our Total Revenue to about $ 150 million dollars.

This figure of between $ 40 to $50 million dollars annually in SEC revenue-sharing monies is only one-third of the total revenue for sports at The University of Georgia.

This is an increase in revenue sharing of maybe 20 percent by The SEC over last year when last August 2015 The SEC distributed then the record amount of nearly half a billion dollars – staggering figure in its own rights when $ 455 million was shared with the 14 member schools of The SEC $ 527 million Revenue The SEC paid taxes on according to tax records yesterday January 17, 2016.  This would put the January 2017 SEC Revenue at at least $ 632 million.

The figure for August 2016 distribution includes nearly half a billion dollars from TV revenue alone for the 2015-2016 fiscal year.

Last year August 2015 The SEC TV revenue component was $ 350 million dollars from TV alone of the then record total shared amongst the 14 SEC member institutions of nearly half a billion total.

Easily the most valuable conference.  Notably the Pac-12 is lagging way behind out there in the land of fruits and nuts where nobody cares and nobody bothers about college football.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/chrissmith/2015/07/20/the-sec-is-finally-the-most-valuable-conference-in-college-sports/#2715e4857a0b7375c665349e

College Football FBS Division 1-A represents 85% of the total college sports revenues which ranks 3rd behind NFL and MLB revenue for sports revenues and equal to NBA revenue.

College Basketball both men and women represents 9% of the total college sports revenue and the remaining 6 % comes chiefly from baseball and golf.

SEC schools are in an arms race to see who can best spend such staggering sums each year – an annual annuity to fund significant capital projects to enhance their school’s competitive position in the primary sports and to distribute the wealth to all the 18 sports our 300 student-athletes compete in.

Each group of our 300 student-athletes annually of the University of Georgia in our 18 sports then generate in their lifetimes 2 billion dollars – most of them in something other than competing in sports professionally at $ 5 million dollars each during their lifetimes.

Approximately 9 % of our draft eligible football players here are drafted, but the other sports do not offer such opportunities because the revenue for those sports dwarfs in comparison to the football revenue.  The football revenue and to a far lesser degree basketball revenue must support all 18 of our sports.

So why is that we cannot have a new gym for them then but Ole Miss can ?

http://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/research/estimated-probability-competing-professional-athletics

https://www.ncaa.org/sites/default/files/Probability-of-going-pro-methodology_Update2013.pdf

We are so far behind the other colleges with their gyms.

Do you even know what a gym is used for and its benefits  ?

It is shameful how no one discusses even our new gym.
