I am not making excuses for our basketball at Georgia but the facts remain that the other SEC schools have spent their record-breaking SEC Revenue-Sharing monies to build them a new gym while we build our bank balance and do nothing to try to improve our basketball.
The kids do NOT want to come to Georgia to play in a basketball gym no one likes or thinks is good.
It’s 50 years old and out-of-date.
We can’t recruit our players here to come play in it.
Give our basketball programs a Merry Christmas by building us a new gym please.
With Andy Landers we used to be at least competitive in women’s basketball. Now I don’t even want to watch us lose.
The Lady Bulldogs – Top 5 Women’s Basketball Program All-Time. We are supposed to sign players like Chloe Chapman but I must tell you that we NEED a new gym to uplift our recruiting for men and for women.
.663 winning percentage Joni Taylor (Joni Crenshaw)
That is 2/3 wins for Joni Taylor when Andy Landers was at 3/4 wins.
We have given up a bunch and hired a DUD.
This season is OVER.
Joni Taylor has won a grand total of one (1) NCAA Tournament Game in 3 years now.
We did not do SHIT again 2018.
We have not done JACK SHIT 2015 2016 or 2017 either and the prospects for 2019 are BLEAK.
We don’t have the players that a top 5 coach # 4 active head coach Andy Landers left Joni Taylor.
Joni Taylor is and has been WEAK getting the gals to want to come play at Stegesaurus.
Repeatedly the top players in-state have signed elsewhere and Joni Taylor has been wholly unable to go get the players she needs nor the players WE DESERVE.
Hired 4-13-2015 this blog reported that it was a BAD HIRE Joni Crenshaw who right after she was hired as a head coach to top 5 all-time UGA Lady Bulldogs’ Basketball Program with no prior head coaching experience Joni Crenshaw CHANGED HER DAMN NAME to Joni Taylor. She has suffered in anonymity since.
This season Joni Taylor let her team JACK THE DAMN BALL up hitting only 35 percent of our shots while our opponents shot 41 percent.
Our opponents this season also out-rebounded us and our opponents had nearly 200 more assists than we did – JACKING THE GOD DAMN BASKETBALL UP like we did ALL GOD DAMN SEASON LONG as this blog reported daily since Joni Taylor was hired.
We don’t rebound we don’t pass the ball to our teammates and we JACK THE GOD DAMN BASKETBALL up.
It’s NOT a pretty sight.
It has NOT been.
It SHALL NOT be.
We committed more than a hundred more turnovers than our opponents this season which is OVER.
150 percent more block shots we gave up than we blocked ourselves. All we do is drive the lane out of control and forcing the ball up instead of passing to the open man. We blocked 80 opponents blocked 196 of our shots.
244 steals we made 281 steals they stole from us.
A team full of ball hogs who can not shoot their way out of a wet God Damn paper bag.
This season as last season.
And as the season before.
Failed experiment Joni Taylor.
Bring in top 5 basketball coach for our women God Damn it.
1901 points this year we scored while 2210 points our opponents did. We’re NOT a very good basketball team and our program is going to be A LOT WORSE next year than it was THIS YEAR.
3 YEARS one NCAA basketball tournament win for our women and that over Mercer. I am told that is Mercer in Macon not even the Mercer in Atlanta whatever Mercer in Macon is.
I am ready to END THIS BULLSHIT hire of Greg McGarity Joni Taylor. Maybe she can make up her mind what her freaking name is at her next hire and stick with that choice.
She was NEVER going to replace Andy Landers and I said THAT here on this blog April 13 of 2015 and every day since. I am SAYING IT AGAIN.
Softball Georgia Lady Bulldogs 2 p.m. free admission no TV
The Lady Bulldogs – Top 5 Women’s Basketball Program All-Time whip-around coverage Comcast Channel 847 ESPN 2 at 1 p.m. hosting Mercer at 1:30 p.m. Mercer has a very nice new gym but Georgia is 25-6 on the season and expected to win. Lady Bulldogs 25-6 are # 17 in the polls and Mercer 30-2 are # 24 in the polls. KeKe Calloway from Forsyth paces Mercer with 17 points per game and feeds Kahlia Lawrence leading Mercer with over 19 points per game from Columbus Georgia. These are definitely two who got away. We’ll have our hands full to hand Mercer their only 3rd loss of the season.
If you ASK KeKe Calloway from Forsyth and Kahlia Lawrence of Columbus why they selected Mercer over Georgia they would BOTH tell you because their NEW GYM is far nicer than our antiquated out-of-date Stegeman Coliseum which we broke ground on January of 1962 by stark contrast fifty-six years ago.
This gym is NOT suitable for Lady Bulldogs # 5 all-time in Women’s Basketball Program. It was 50 years ago. We have the most cash on-hand of any NCAA school and there is no excuse for losing-out to Mercer on these 2 fine gals who we need and have needed for years now here at UGA.
Everyone has a nice new gym except us. And we have the MOST CASH instead from our SEC Revenue-Sharing landfall annually – an annuity worthy of taking out a LOAN on a new gym God Damn it.
NASCAR’s first event 2018 is open to the 17 drivers who won a pole 2017 season.
vols do NOT deserve to have a better gym than The University of Georgia. It is BAD ENOUGH that our players from HERE have to go up there to play in a real gym but for us to sit on the MOST CASH in The SEC whilst providing our players both men and women the Stegesaurus instead is just sad.
The Lady Dawgs today are 21-3 on the season and have a good chance to beat vols even on the road.
vols # 11 Georgia UGA Lady Bulldogs number 18.
9-2 vs The SEC Georgia Lady Dawgs.
Our piece of shit gym is now 54 years old and was designed by the Agricultural School to be a cow palace. It is too small and too poorly designed to be fixed by putting lipstick on that pig. And yet here sits UGA with the MOST CASH in The SEC once again 2018 and all the other schools with NEW GYMS but not us.
Built in 1964 by Ag School on their campus.
The Stegesaurus replaced Woodruff Hall with a seating capacity of 3000 built in 1923 and only seats 10523 capacity. While Woodruff Hall lasted only 22 years The Stegesurus has stood there as an impediment to our men and women basketball programs for 54 years.
The kids in this great state play a mean game of basketball but categorically for over 50 years have REFUSED to play basketball in this crappy-assed “gym.”
Us with all this cash.
NCAA men’s basketball tournament last held a game here in 1971 and that is 47 years NCAA has deemed our gym UNSUITABLE.
Lady Diamond Dawgs have won 3 straight against ranked opponents and # 25 are 4-1 on the season
6 batters are batting over 400 on the season.
Team batting average is .418
Opponents all of whom are ranked teams are batting only .217
We average over 10 runs a game.
Our fielding is BETTER than our opponents which it was NOT last year.
ENGRAM, Mackenzie had 14 points and is a Senior. When Andy Landers quit she did not get to play in the NCAA Tournament because she had bacteria – weird and we have not been back since.
CONNALLY, Gabby had ANOTHER strong outing proving she belongs in the starting line-up.
The Lady Bulldogs – Top 5 Women’s Basketball Program All-Time have not done shit since Andy Landers up and quit the program to be a radio TV announcer but they sure are this year.
As I said we would this year.
We just ran away with the game at the end.
Our next game is Thursday at LSU and then Super Sunday we play 2 p.m. against Ole Miss at the Stegesaurus.
We need a new gym.
If you want the men to compete you have to build us a new gym.
If you are not going to build us a new gym with all this cash we have then don’t talk to ME about the men because we have not had an NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament at the Stegesaurus since 1971 which is 47 years ago. The kids will NOT play there. You HEAR me yet ?
I still maintain that if we built our basketball programs a proper NEW GYM like EVERY OTHER SEC school is doing with their SEC monies then we would recruit better talent and keep it at home here in Georgia like we do in football.
We need a new gym to be competitive.
We have little talent in basketball and it has BEEN THIS WAY forever.
# 74 men
# 51 men
RPI is NOT competitive.
We should and HAVE TO BE better than this bullshit
Impressive win on the road over Virginia who THUMPED us last year without these freshmen.
We play again Tuesday.
The Lady Bulldogs are a Top 5 Women’s Basketball Program All-Time.
We just did not recruit last year or the year before after Andy Landers up and quit.
This year we have a top freshmen class joining our team and we are TIRED of LOSING.
Que Morrison a Freshmen has LED the WAY for The Lady Bulldogs.
Caliya Robinson is our mainstay who will excel at the next level in the WNBA in her Junior year now.
Mackenzie Engram is a senior and she used to be our main player.
Taja Cole is a redshirt sophomore and she has really come on this year.
Gabby Connally is a freshmen sensation pouring it on as well.
Haley Clark and Simone Costa are trying to hold off all these freshmen we just added this year 2 more seniors.
With 3 more on the bench we are 11-deep including Sophomore Stephanie Paul.
It’s a good fresh start for a change for our women’s basketball team here at UGA Georgia Lady Bulldogs. This season shows promise. Tons of promise. We should have a very good team this 2017-2018 season.
Looking to bounce back and beat Virginia on the road at John Paul Jones Arena and get payback for the slaughter of us last year at our house, The Lady Bulldogs travel to Charlottesville Virginia at 7 p.m. 16 November 2017 Thursday night.
There is no excuse for The Lady Bulldogs – Top 5 Women’s Basketball Program All-Time – to go 16-15 last year except that Joni Taylor did not recruit a LICK last year and now this year has 2 phenomenal freshmen starters Taja Cole and Que Morrison who combined to go 13 of 20 from the field last night including 5 of 10 from the 3-point stripe adding in 11 rebounds to go with their 32 points adding 8 assists to only 4 turnovers along with 3 steals. It is quite the debut for Taja Cole and Que Morrison.
2017 SEC/Big 12 Challenge tied this season at 5-5 so we’ve never beat the Big 12.
This brings UGA to 13-8 on the season and with just 4-4 in The SEC this season is going nowhere at this point. We have two (2) players Yante Maten a Junior this year and gone after the season is J.J. Frazier a senior.
UGA Women’s basketball ALSO suffered in recruiting 2016 and ALSO has not enough real players. 2017 the women will have a good team again finally. The women play this afternoon Sunday but the season was over before it began with not enough top players like the men suffer from as well.
This lack of recruiting at UGA in a SPORT is caused by the gym or lack of one Stegesaurus which is NOT COMPETITIVE an eye-sore and a huge damper on the sport of basketball for The University of Georgia.
Our gym holds back both the women and the men.
These are just two (2) MORE sports Greg McGarity sucks at and has his ENTIRE tenure hired here by Mike Adam$ as HIS puppet with no head coaching experience to run The University of Georgia ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT unless you consider 1 year girl’s tennis coach an Athletics’ Director.
At UGA I do NOT consider that or Damon Evans whom Mike Adam$ also hired as AD here Athletics’ Directors obviously. Their records speak for themselves.
All Greg McGarity wants to do is to MAKE MONEY and sit on it the same as Damon Evans. This then is prototypical Mike Adam$’ puppet. Make millions of dollars DONATIONS to The University of Georgia. Bullshit. The University of Georgia has a one and a half BILLION dollar budget and our sports’ teams SUCK.
Tasha Humphrey during her playing time at Georgia ranked # 2 in The SEC in scoring, # 3 in The SEC in rebounding, # 2 in The SEC in three-point Field Goal percentage, # 4 in The SEC in free throw percentage, # 5 in The SEC in minutes played and # 14 in The SEC in Field Goal Percentage. A remarkable showing in The SEC and nationally and thus All-America EVERY year for us.
Tasha Humphrey was named Miss Georgia Basketball 2001 2003 and 2004 at Gainesville High School by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Tasha Humphrey was also named the Gatorade Georgia Player of the Year in 2003 and 2004 at Gainesville High School.
Tasha Humphrey was named 3-Time Parade All-America at Gainesville High School.
Tasha Humphrey was named Consensus 1st Team All-America by USA Today, Parade, Street & Smith’s and SLAM while at Gainesville High School.
Tasha Humphrey was McDonald’s All-American at Gainesville High School.
Tasha Humphrey played Center in the WNBA.
Tasha Humphrey’s mother who helped coach her at Georgia with Andy Landers is Brenda Hill who had the Hall County Record for most points ever 1961 points which Tasha broke. And Tasha Humphrey’s father is Donnie Ray Humphrey Defensive Tackle at Auburn where he was All-American 1979 to 1983 and then in the NFL for the Green Bay Packers 3rd Round Draft Pick from Huntsville Alabama before his death 2014.
Tasha Humphrey is a sharpshooter big man a rare combination.
Tasha Humphrey has her degree from The University of Georgia.
Some of the others for Georgia who also have Won The SEC Women’s Basketball Legends are Saudia Roundtree 1994-96 Andy Landers Kiesha Brown 1996-97 and 1998-2001.
I loved watching Tasha Humphrey play and our teams were great. It was loads of fun for all. We have several top players this year for us and next season are adding-in 4 of the very best players in the nation to them and will be great next season. We’ve won several big games in a row to lift our spirits.
(1) Who is Georgia – what have we accomplished – why have expectations?
(2) Who is Mark Richt – what has he really done after 2007 ?
Why did Georgia Bulldog coach Mark Richt quit ?
He did NOT quit. He was FIRED.
This blog for 8 long years told you why he had to and guaranteed that he WOULD QUIT. In fact, this blog ALSO stated the date he would quit – right after the Georgie tek game 2015 where he looked like crap AGAIN !
He was given no choice. We had offered the job to Coach Kirby Smart and Mark Richt was being fired for averaging 4 LOSSES a season for 8 years now. After 2007.
He also was # 40 in Win Percentage vs the Top 15 after 2007. For # 11 All-Time Wins’ UGA.
Run out of town on a rail.
Who are we ? What have we accomplished ? Why should we expect more than averaging 4 losses per season over the most-recent 8-year period ?
Sports Illustrated Zac Ellis :
” I used to consider Texas the best job in the country, but now I think it’s Georgia, followed by Ohio State. Why Georgia? My top criterion is access to players relative to competitors, and Georgia is in a really enviable position. In the past five recruiting classes, an average of 113.6 high-schoolers from the state of Georgia have signed with Power Five schools each year. (Note that we’re talking Power Five, not all of the FBS.) That number is third behind Texas (179.4) and Florida (164.4) and ahead of California (100.4). The competition between state schools in those states is far more intense than it is in Georgia. With Georgia Tech running the option, the schools aren’t really going head-to-head on offensive players because of different needs, and Georgia is the bigger brand name. It’s also in the conference that more recruits consider desirable. In Georgia, they grow up wanting to be Bulldogs. The state of Ohio produced 64.6 Power Five signees a year over that same five-year period.”
“Do Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Tennessee, South Carolina and others come in and poach Georgia talent? Absolutely. But there’s such an abundance of it in the state that Georgia can afford to lose a few top in-state targets and still field a team capable of competing for SEC and national titles. Alabama and Auburn have to invade Georgia. During that five-year period, their state produced 36.4 Power Five signees a year. People talk about LSU’s monopoly in its state, but the numbers between Louisiana and Georgia aren’t even close. Louisiana’s average number of Power Five signees during that span was 38.6 a year.”
“Add to this great facilities (now that the Bulldogs are building an indoor), great tradition…possibly the best college town in America and the fact that they play in the easier division of the nation’s deepest conference. That’s the recipe for a great job that just about every coach in America would crawl over broken glass to take.”
“I know no school president or athletic director will ever say it out loud, but coaches almost always get fired because of their win-loss record—not because they didn’t mold enough men.”
ESPN Alex Scarborough: “Let’s be clear, they’re both great jobs. If LSU and Georgia are open, the line of candidates will stretch as far as the eye can see. But for me, the question of which job is more appealing is easy. It’s Georgia, and I don’t think it’s close. The support is there from fans and administration. You’re recruiting in a state that produces the most SEC players of any in the country. And you don’t have to bother with the West.”
ESPN Edward Aschoff: “To me, Georgia would be the better job. It’s in the heart of one of the Southeast’s most fertile recruiting grounds. Atlanta is right down the road, and the facilities are only getting better. It’s also in the East, which has barely registered a pulse recently, so any rebuilding project shouldn’t take too long. And you don’t have to play Alabama every year. But don’t get it twisted, LSU is a great job. Louisiana doesn’t have the talent pool that Georgia has on a continuous basis, but you can pluck plenty of elite-level prospects out of your backyard However, you have to compete in the SEC West !”
10-Win Seasons before Mark Richt – twelve (12) but those are ALL 80% win % or more.
Winning Percentage Season of 80 % or better before Mark Richt
22 Georgia Bulldogs’ Football Seasons before Mark Richt of 80 % Win Percentage or Higher
4 Mark Richt Seasons of 80 % Win Percentage or Higher
26 Seasons of 80 % Win Percentage or Higher of which Mark Richt has 4 – eleven NOT.
These then are Mark Richt’s Best 4 Seasons :
2002 when he lost to Florida unranked in the Final AP Poll Top 25 even with their win over us when he went 0-13 on 3rd Down Conversions relegating him to play 5-loss unranked Arky SEC Championship Game and 5-loss FSU # 23 in the bowl game nobody cared about and nobody watched.
2004 when he lost to a hapless Phillip Fulmer vols’ team who should have lost 4 games that 2004 season and he got blown-out by Auburn by 3 TD without extra points 6-24; therefore he did not even get to play for The SEC Championship. For this, he played in the Outback Bowl nobody watched and nobody cared about at 11 am.
2007 when he lost to 6-6 South Carolina who did not even play in a bowl game. And, he lost – blown-out by the vols 14-35 by 3 TD. The vols should’ve been a 5-loss team. For these performances, he was awarded the booby prize of beating # 19 Hawai’i in the bowl game nobody watched and nobody cared about.
2012 when he lost – blown-out by South Carolina 7-35. A 4 TD beat-down. And, then he 3 times in front of me told Aaron Murray No, No, No, do not spike it – that Mark Richt said he was certain that Nick Saban would not expect an Aaron Murray pass, which was batted down at the line of scrimmage with all receivers covered. For these performances he was awarded 4-loss Nebraska # 25 AP Poll in the CapitalOne Bowl which nobody watched and nobody cared about.
Note please, that of these 4 best Mark Richt seasons only 2012 is after 2007 and that year he had 2 really really really bad coaching decisions – not preparing the team to be ready-to-play against South Carolina beat by more than 3 TD for 7 times after 2007 and this 1 of them ! And, then his disagreement 3 times with Aaron Murray that Aaron Murray wanted to spike it and Mark Richt 3 times over-ruled Aaron Murray when Aaron Murray CLEARLY DECISIVELY was correct and Mark Richt just wrong.
These are his 4 “best” seasons and the bowl games he earned for us compared to the 15 Bowl Games on the National Stage by The Georgia Bulldogs’ Football Program, many of which we Won and 6 of those named # 1 by this poll or that poll.
“Athens is an all time great college town, and its women can be put up against anyone’s and come out looking good. People who go to college in the northeast really have no idea what they are missing when it comes to the ladies.”

Notable Campus-wide Parties: Football Saturdays, Greek Life
“The scene here in Athens is something that has to be experienced to be believed. If you’re over on Milledge Ave (Frat Row) on any given weekend night, you’ll hear bands and big time rap names blasting over the screams of some of the finest Southern Belles. But the main attraction to UGA is the downtown scene; it is absolutely unreal. Thursdays find wild outfits from socials running around, and every other night it seems like the entire student body is out raging in their Sunday best. Athens is where The South’s finest go to raise a little hell.”
“To put it simply, Athens is insane. Every single night of the week, you can go downtown and find people drinking and partying. Whether it be Sunday nights at Pauley’s or Thursdays at Whiskey Bent, there will never be a shortage of attractive Southern men and women downtown to meet. The Greek scene tends to dominate the party scene, with socials every Thursday and band parties nearly every weekend. However, one does not have to be Greek to go downtown and have a great time. Getting into bars downtown is a joke as well, so being a freshman does not mean you can’t join in the fun. Downtown Athens has 20+ bars where you can drink as much as you want. This is also a great school for guys, where the student body is comprised of nearly 60% women in a school of 32,000+. Saturdays in Athens on Gameday are also one of the big parts of the insanity. Typically, people wake up and start drinking and tailgating all day until the game starts. Athens is literally shut down so everyone can party and watch the game.”
“The music scene in Athens is also a big part of what makes UGA a great party school. With the Georgia Theater attracting big names on a weekly basis to huge country concerts in Sanford and out in the field, there will always be somewhere to listen to music and drink. Athens, GA is the best college town in the United States.”
We raise a little Cain, now and again.
We are characters !
I am sorry; we are characters ! And, we don’t like what’s been going-on over the last 8 years here.
# 2 Forbes’ Magazine Most Revenue nationally from our football team
Look up please here at this URL Link the OTHER FOOTBALL PROGRAMS who are considered the Top Football Programs and see how far down they are as a University ! These other top football programs really almost all of them are way worse as a school. We are going to recruit more of the Elite Talent here at Georgia after Mark Richt leaves. And, why is that ? Because one, we are a great University AND we have a great Football Program ! And, because two, the top players do NOT want to play for a Charlie Brown who really only beats the cupcakes and who struggles against EVERYONE else. This is the Major Point of this blog, whatever part of it you read.
Now that we’ve established who we are at Georgia, let’s study exactly coldly precisely whom it is Mark Richt has run his record up on, and why he has been considered by everyone as a coach who – just has lost it after 2007. Is it ok if we do this please ? This blog here does not have the 250 top analysts in college football today who have TOLD YOU he has to go for those would make this blog post too long. They are found on the right side of this blog as you read it in the 250 CATEGORIES where you can see in the 250 CATEGORIES on the right just who said what in their own words with the URL Link in each CATEGORY so you can just click it and see exactly that they ALL think he just has to go. Or, shall we just simply say he is a nice guy and leave it at that ?
72-32 beats powder-puff teams, averaging 4-loss season after 2007.
His religion has given him different goals from our own.
His roster mismanagement after 2007 has clearly been because of a goal other than winning, and his failures at his main position of QB are that he came here as a QB coach yet has failed to develop them. I think he spends too much time not directly doing his job. In fact, I know that has to be the issue because he tells us winning is not important to him and he’d be SATISFIED with whatever happens here in winning at Georgia. It’s not how he’s JUDGED he says !
# 88 Passing Offense 2014 with Mike Bobo
# 104 Passing Offense 2015 with Brian Schottenheimer
You saw something different against # 64 Georgia Southern in the last game than I ?
“We knew. I’m telling you,” Mark Richt said of Georgia Southern. “Everybody was like, ‘well coach is just saying this and that to try and get his boys ready to play,’ but we, especially our defensive staff, could see how well this offense executed. Just knowing what it takes to prepare for an offense like that. It keeps you up at night. Well-coached team. A team that knows how to win. They played their tails off.”
‘ I don’t think we’ve gotta create motivation. I think we’ve gotta temper it’ “head coach Mark Richt said on his radio show Monday night ” before Alabama kick-off this season – blown-out 10-38 more than 3 TD as he’s done 7 times after 2007 and did not once prior, because the team showed-up again not-ready-play ! Told players all week prior to Alabama THIS – that it’s HIS JOB to DE-MOTIVATE them, then they showed-up not-ready-play which the # 1 Athlete in the nation he invited to the game as Our Recruiting Guest told you after the game that his impressions were that Mark Richt did NOT bring his players to the game ready-to-play. It’s written between the lines in this blog post that these items herein listed make it patently clear that Mark Richt does NOT know how to coach a football team, or that if he does, he has FAILED to do so – often because he has a completely different set of goals from our own for our Proud UGA Football Program ! Did you get that please ?
Mark Richt says : “You can’t become what you do. What I do is not who I am. If I become what I do and I become just a football coach, then you’re asking for disaster. My identity is in Christ. I am a born-again believer in Jesus Christ. I know that he died for my sin and I am going to heaven when this is all said and done, forever. That gives me peace, no matter what happens here.”
“All the time y’all probably thought I was being coy but I really really didn’t know. Even on this decision – very very close decision to name the Starter. I think they all can get us in the right plays; all can get us in the right protections; I think they all can function extremely well and help us win. That is what made it tough. I can not tell you how many times it went back-and-forth quite frankly. It was very close. It really has been a tough decision because they all are extremely hard workers; all smart; all capable; all talented. It was a battle that didn’t define itself; no one really pulled away.”
5-2 before the game 8 with Faton Bauta -0- snaps at QB. None all season ! Then, left him in every snap not 1 running play for him – running QB – 4 interceptions. DESPERATE !
“Teams are trying to stack the box against us Malcolm Mitchell said. Vanderbilt stacked the box and we didn’t pass the ball and you saw what happened. Until we get comfortable throwing the ball I hope our defense shows up.”
“I think Coach Brian Schottenheimer is a great coach. I think he knows what he’s doing. I think he knows how to coach QBs extremely well. I’ve got a lot of faith in that.” Mark Richt head coach who calls ALL the shots on Offense and always has – and none on Defense and never has.
David Greene says : “Here we are in November and we still don’t know which direction they’re going in. It’s tough to be this deep in the season really without any identity offensively. Unfortunately it’s not just one thing. Offensively right now it’s very stale. Special teams has really struggled. There’s a lot of talent on the team but sometimes the players just aren’t making plays. As an entire team they just kind of seem lost…like they just don’t know what they want to do and how they want to do it. A good example of that is starting FatonBauta when he has zero starting experience. It just goes to show that what they’ve been trying to do just isn’t working.”
He was BLOWN-OUT embarrassed in 2 of those losses and the 3rd loss was to the yellowjackets averaging the # 52 Scout.com recruiting ranking !
“I don’t think much about it. I think the Lord is in charge of everything. So, I don’t think much about it.” Mark Richt
This is NOT your Calling Mark Richt. The SEC is NOT a Church League son.
We have 26 seasons of 80 % win percentage or higher – THAT is what the OLD 10-Win discussion was about !
Only 1 after 2007 of 80 % for Mark Richt ! One of 8 and it marred by blow-out Biblical Proportions by Spurrier 7-35 and then in front of me Mark Richt over-ruling Aaron Murray 3 times no don’t spike it !
You have told us since Mark Richt, that Nick Saban will never figure it out and expect an Aaron Murray pass with no time on clock, won’t rush him and deflect the pass and will not cover my receivers !
No one hates Mark Richt either.
I would rather have Mark Richt quit, which is that which I have said all season he will do and why he did not sign the extension – giving up half a million a year.
And, then tell us all that it was the Lord’s Will that we win this morning. Why show up then ? I guess that obviously explains the way you play against ranked teams sir ! We are to forget about the 5, 4 and 4 unanswered touchdowns by the vols, Alabama and Florida against you Mark Richt this season because it was the Lord’s Will ANYWAY so why bother to try ? It’s all preordained ? Where do you dream-up this crap Mark Richt ?
“EVERTHING IS PREORDAINED.”
You have free choice to work diligently at this your job sir – that which we offer-up $ 50 millions of dollars sir to you for coaching our team and being successful at it sir. It’s NOT God’s Will that EVERYTHING is preordained ! Not close ! Not true. Lie. You speaking of that which you have NO KNOWLEDGE ! A neophyte.
You sire are being held accountable by God for not performing your lifework up to the greatest of your ability, and wrongly putting it off on God that which was your own free choice sir. Your own free will sir ! Your goals are not our goals. Our goal is not to be SEC Champion or National Champion but to be in the game. 15 times in 15 previous Big Bowl Games Georgia has been in the game, winning most of these Big Bowl Games at the end of the season, the Nation Watching, all eyes on us, between 2 teams ranked at the very top of the Final Poll.
You never got that Mark Richt.
You still do not.
Rewriting history after all you can accomplish is a SEC East title in 8 years sir as that is our goal is just dumb.
Only your supporters who are ALL WRONG and owe me an apology would believe the lies out of your mouth that our goal was to win The SEC East.
The AJ-C has kowtowed to Mark Richt and lied about letters sent to them about our unhappiness with the direction this religious guy has taken our football program.
Bluto said that Mark Richt would be back.
Barrett Sallee Bleacher Report said to another Bleacher Reporter who bragged yesterday how great Mark Richt is and would be back, as well owe me an apology.
The Dawgbone owes me an apology insisting that anyone who dared speak up that Mark Richt is not beating the top teams and not getting us to our goals can not be linked to their WebPages.
Many DISNEYdawgs.com posters who supported the mediocrity of Mark Richt owe me an apology.
What he cares about is religion.
Not our football program.
God does not sit there and be in charge of everything at all.
God gives us Free Choice.
Lesson # 1 in my Discipleship.
According to you, then, God set Adam and Eve up for failure ! He did not. He told you He did not ! It was their will, not His. He gave them and you Free Will.
You just have chosen to NOT do your duties which could have brought great Glory on God, and have FAILED at YOUR HANDS sir ! NOT His.
Genesis 3 God tells us that He became saddened surprised and disappointed in Adam and Eve, sir ! He did NOT preordain it AT ALL ! He then tells us that Adam and Eve and all mankind would suffer for the consequences of our Own Free Will.
That is what God preordained, son. That you have Your Own Free Will, Mark Richt ! As we do to fire you. And, as you do to just step down, which is what I have called for for 8 long years now.
You have chosen to BLAME IT ALL ON HIM.
To resign yourself to Him preordaining EVERYTHING !
That is a purposeful lie on your part as you so often have done here for 15 entire years since you finally showed-up here Mark Richt.
You do not know what you’re talking about. You only recently even began studying the Bible. And, NOT very well. This is the major problem I have with you that you do NOT understand much around you – nor accept the responsibility of being our coach of our football team.
You do not think about it, because well it’s God’s Will ? Well excuse me Mark Richt, but EVERYONE else thinks about it a lot, sir ! Especially all of us who pay your salary sir. For all your obvious talent from this last of your Dream Team, 20 seniors gone, with # 8 Scout.com Average Recruiting Ranking and # 5 Most NFL Draft Picks, you surely are not Top 25 after 2007 at ANYTHING – any way you slice it – Mark Richt over this most recent most current 8-year period.
And, your blaming or resigning yourself to YOUR FACT ONLY that the Lord is in charge of EVERYTHING is another LIE from you sir to obfuscate your lousy records against the top teams after 2007. You are simply trying to turn our attention from your 2 tales of Mark Richt : (1) When you did do well oh so long ago now against the top teams 2001-2007. And, (2) when you GAVE UP, quit trying, made no effort at all, said you would become instead the CEO of this football program – promoted yourself in Peter Principle – to that which you finally then reached your own personal level of your own personal incompetence.
But, say oh well the Lord is in charge of everything.
I am satisfied.
I am over it.
I do not care.
I have no input on it anyway.
It’s all the Lord’s Will.
I do not think about it !
Why should I ?
The Lord is in charge of EVERYTHING.
I think ?
Nah; not me !
Don’t you KNOW that the Lord is in charge of EVERTHING ?
“YOU cannot blame me !”
That’s exactly what that means !
NOTHING else !
God was in charge of 2001-2007 ? God is in charge after 2007 ? Just what is that you SAY God is responsible for and not you Mark Richt – that you say is EVERYTHING ?
You are especially inept, sir, at beating Top 5, Top 10, Top 15, Top 25, and teams who go on to a bowl game that season sir. And, as bad as your records are against ALL of these – none in the Top 25 – with your # 8 talent sir, your record against them not at Home for us, is EVEN WORSE sir.
You tolerate our criticism because to be a coach is to know that, you said after the game this morning Mark Richt ?
You do NOT !
You THINK you are BETTER than us.
So, what you are left with sir is your 37-1 vs non-bowl teams after 2007, eight years of meaningless seasons with 33 teams now looking at 10-win season 2015 sir.
The Lord is NOT in charge of everything. We wanted to pay you over $ 4 million dollars a year until 2019 to have you be in charge of our Football Program. To beat ranked teams as the # 11 All-Time Win program with the # 3 best recruits available in this state which has no competition for them in-state from yellowjackets or Georgia Southern. You have FAILED to do so sir after 2007. No, sir, the Lord is NOT in charge sir – not of our football team, and NEITHER are you obviously.
The Lord is NOT responsible for all this after 2007 Mark Richt, you are !
Mark Richt averages the # 8 Scout.com Recruiting Ranking and has the # 5 Most NFL Draft Picks with 86, but after 2007 he is not in the Top 25 at really anything !
Talk about underachievement ! This blog post details the epitome of underachievement with all his talent after 2007 and details the vast resources at hand for Mark Richt to have accomplished after 2007 diddle-e-squat.
AFTER 2007 by Mark Richt and for which he is judged :
Man and God judge Mark Richt for all this after 2007 in his Calling which the Lord Called Mark Richt to, but which he DENIED and said unto the Lord, I am NOT accepting this Calling Lord. I want to be a preacher man. And, teach people in religion that which I know not either.
Mark Richt, sir, God expects us to take an active part.
This is why we find so many vigorous words and phrases in Scripture, such as “make every effort”, “strain”, “struggle”, “pursue”, “run with diligence the race set before you”, “fight the good fight”, “persist”, “resist”, “stand”, “take hold”, “guard”, “endure to the end”, etc. If everything is preordained, what would be the use of all this strenuous effort?
His plans for all of us – His plans for each of us will not be fulfilled unless we cooperate with Him in their fulfillment.
No sir. Everything is NOT preordained. You should KNOW that ! Your Calling in fact could have brought Great Glory to God, but you choose instead to say God Preordained EVERYTHING !
So, you did not try. Why indeed try Mark Richt – after all – the Lord is in charge of EVERTHING ! So, why think about anything related to anything as mundane as doing your Calling to Glorify Him. To Witness to others by doing what He asks to the best of our ability. As in every word out of your mouth : You just do not get it.
“I don’t think much about it. I think the Lord is in charge of everything. So, I don’t think much about it.” Mark Richt
God is not imposing Himself on everything Mark Richt. Good Lord, son.
This utter nonsense that Religion, Mark Richt and The Georgia Bulldogs’ Football Program may not be discussed, is over here on my blog.
Everything is NOT preordained. God is NOT in charge of everything.
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
God does not tell ME that He is in charge of everything, but that it is MY choice, as yours – only you do not see it and prefer to hide behind that which you know not, and tell us all purposely that He indeed Is In Charge and not you therefore – not your fault : You say as your parting shot :
“YOU cannot blame me !”
# 41 at 18 losses of 24 games vs Top 15 after 2007 for # 11 All-Time UGA
Jere Morehead e-mail address (since I firmly am convinced the problem is Greg McGarity no good at his job since he got here) email@example.com
How can the # 11 team All-Time in Wins, with our Average # 8 Scout.com Recruiting Ranking, with 86 NFL Draft Picks # 5 best nationally, us with 17 seasons of 0 or 1 loss, us with 15 Bowl Games on the National Stage both teams ranked at the top of the Final AP Poll most of which we Won, us with 26 seasons of 80% win percentage or higher have only 1 season after 2007 over 80 % win percentage and it marred by 2 devastatingly horrible coaching decisions to be # 41 in Won/Lost Record after 2007 vs the Top 15 Ranked teams, be 36-1 vs non-bowl teams and only 36-31 for our 72-32 over the most-current 8 years averaging 4 losses per season and therefore have only played in meaningless bowl games by stark contrast with 12-1 record not at Sanford vs non-bowl teams and only 18-22 vs bowl teams # 26 nationally ? How is this possible ? How could this possibly be considered remotely acceptable ? Mark Richt can not win the big game.
He’s gone and I accomplished what I wanted to accomplish with the FIRED guy you kept bragging on. I won ! You LOST.
Andy Landers endorses Joni Crenshaw, despite the fact that UGA Lady Bulldogs are the Top 5 program nationally by all accounts, while Joni has never coached anywhere. It’s quite a challenge the fine lady has taken on. No coach at UGA, men’s or women’s, has begun to be able to attract the top in-state talent to this relic of a gym at the state’s leading institution in the now over 50 years the out-dated cow palace has served as our basketball home.
Joni Crenshaw is a 4-year letterman from Alabama, after making high school All-America and Home Coming Queen in Mississippi. She has her degree in Education from Alabama, like all 4-year letterman for Andy Landers did here.
Greg McGarity really has a poor record here at Georgia as Athletic Director, and while most of that is based upon his showings in football during his watch here, he really has not stood out in his previous hires.
Once a top all-sports University annually, during Greg McGarity’s watch, my alma mater has suffered greatly across the board in all sports – notably ending Andy Landers’ career in early retirement – disgraced by the effort of the current players 2015 season.
Joni Crenshaw has led the recruiting efforts everywhere she served previously – all in assistant staff roles.
One would think that UGA would have lured away a proven coach from somewhere, but instead Joni Crenshaw is tapped to be promoted here, where she has been the previous 4 years here, recruiting this talent that so under-achieved that the coach quit over it and took early retirement.
It’s a bold move to take such a fine lady and make her a Top 5 Program All-Time Head Coach.
Success and failure will be measured here, in-state, in recruiting classes.
Andy Landers was known as a tough disciplinarian and was our only coach ever, hired by Vince Dooley, who has quite a long list of great hires he made – not the least of which was hiring Andy Landers as a proven head coach in women’s basketball in 1979.
Joni Crenshaw might just fit the bill from what I’ve seen of her on the sidelines here, as the antithesis of Andy Landers bullish persona in games representing us. He was known for a tough defense, but this last season, all that went out the window.
All the recruits who are here on the team, were recruited here by Joni Crenshaw.
This team cannot shoot the ball, nor did anyone step-up and shoot the ball well for us this season. Every time down the court, they jacked it up as a team. Our shooting percentages, as a team, were atrocious every game all season long.
McKenzie Ingram is our star to build our team around next season, if she stays.
If not, this is going to be a task only a seasoned veteran would know how to deal with.
Andy Landers’ stated attitude for 3 and a half decades here, is that the players themselves have to come to UGA motivated. That’s a little curious actually. It is the primary function, once a college coach gets a player to the campus, to motivate the player. In fact, in management courses I excelled in here at UGA, planning, organizing, controlling, staffing, and leading directing or motivating are the very precepts of this position as Top 5 Program Head Coach.
Andy Landers was tough.
No one ever really broached that subject.
Joni Crenshaw leads, directs, motivates in a completely opposite approach. This could serve her well. Not privy myself to recruiting against Andy Landers, one would think there might have been some negative recruiting going on.
Despite not having the top talent in-state stay here any year for 36 years, Andy Landers’ approach did work.
It might have grinded on some high school kids or rival coaches, but we all took it in stride as there never was any impropriety on his part – just stubborn meanness.
I never missed a game Andy Landers coached on TV – not in 36 years. I have been to many home games, and many away games, but now that the SEC Network televises these games live, there is much actually for Joni Crenshaw to work with in recruiting the top gals in-state to stay at the state’s top institution.
Joni Crenshaw certainly does not have the sideline persona that Andy Landers did.
Quite the opposite is the case, on and off the court.
You do not have to be friends of those whom you are in charge of, but there is no set rule that the manager, the leader, the head coach, cannot be liked and respected. You can like a coach because of his or her success.
Andy Landers had that.
Andy Landers told it like it is, too.
He is respected for that, as well.
And, for his accomplishments in our classrooms and in our games, and everything associated with our Top 5 program only he, ever, coached.
In time, Andy Landers College Basketball Hall of Fame recipient years ago now, will be recognized in all these areas.
What everyone really saw every game was a man yelling and screaming on the sidelines at his players.
Can I say that ?
I just did.
He certainly never had any problems with his gals, in the classrooms, on or off the court.
No one dared.
In many respects, Joni Crenshaw is long overdue this position no one heretofore offered.
She has certainly studied under the greats of the game, and here the top assistant 4 years’ running to Andy Landers – replacing a cast who really none of them have gone on to greatness. The players, hell yes, the former players of Andy Landers have and did go on to greatness.
Our women’s gymnastics program has fallen into the pits after Greg McGarity’s hires here.
I believe our Athletics’ Department still is mired in saving money, not spending money, making money, and cares little about the fans and our strong desire to actually win.
Our baseball team certainly is not doing well, yet over the years in that sport too, UGA has done very well.
Really, none of the hires of Greg McGarity have worked out.
Certainly his record on his watch in the main sport football, has been very poor – not even in the Top 25 for his time here – which began before the 2010 season. We have smelly bathrooms, old out of date facilities, loads of cash, and sorry teams in every sport under Greg McGarity.
I said before the hire was made that it would be questioned whomever he chose, unless he chose a proven top head women’s basketball coach commensurate with our Top 5 All-Time Status under Andy Landers.
Top schools in a sport hire proven head coaches, and pay them the money.
We have a unique set of challenges here at UGA in both men’s and women’s basketball, with all the talent here in-state and none attending the state’s leading institution. None.
Basketball has gotten a bad name. The stars of the game do whatever they want. They are paid millions and jack it up. No one looks at shooting percentage of those shots. It’s a game where 6 players can put an entire program on its back and win it all.
Andy Landers never did that.
Women’s basketball enjoys a far better rep than the men do.
The men are 1 and done, and many programs in shady dealings on and off the court.
Here, we have enjoyed success in women’s basketball just not the ultimate success.
A coach is judged on his or her success ultimately and this one, there is no measure except for what she can do following a tough act to follow. It certainly puts her on the map, and about time is all I can say.
I think women should be coached by women.
I love Georgia Lady Bulldogs’ basketball program as they have provided me 36 years of fun rooting them on. But, I am not stupid enough to be blind in my love about us. I want us to win, but in basketball mostly I want us to quit reading about the women and the men in this state doing so much in the sport and us out of the equation.
If Andy Landers had had a new gym, he would have kept some of these gals in-state, and therein would’ve been all the difference.
But, here at UGA, we adhere to something more important than winning – the almighty dollar.
Everyone will still recruit against us on the basis of our Stegosaurus having not hosted any post-season NCAA Tournament games in now nearly half a century.
It’s time our Athletics’ Department stepped it up and supported our sports in all manners relating to our winning.
Right now, this is a tough task for Joni Crenshaw, a fine lady and wonderful woman, accomplished civic leader, and solid recruiter who certainly knows the game of basketball and The South.
I believe Joni Crenshaw knows what she faces. The kids might identify with her; at least I know they should. But, a proven head coach for a Top 5 Women’s College Basketball Program All-Time, she is not. Best of luck to you Joni Crenshaw. I will be pulling for you to pull this off, dear. You’re one of us !
Amazing what Andy Landers accomplished for us all, in a such a crappy-assed gym.
Not that anyone could be bothered to relate the press conference, and AJ-C Chip Towers tried to CHARGE to read his story on Andy Landers, but what Andy Landers said is that he does not teach attitude and effort, and that this team demonstrated neither.
I said this team could not shoot, and those who could, did not get the ball to shoot it.
One would think that if you are the beat writer for your rag, that you could be bothered to tell the truth of what Andy Landers said to the press about his meeting with the staff, and then the players.
If you are at all interested in listening to what Andy Landers actually did say, which again, was NOT reported by ANYONE on any local rag, about how the gals were not playing good basketball and that that is why he quit, retiring early at only age 62, you may do so here :
It’s a 22 minute video on http://www.GeorgiaDogs.com Official Website, but you only have to listen to the 1st answer to the 1st question, to know why he took early retirement.
Our players, our teams, our staffs, spoiled ourselves and me, and I became accustomed to playing at the highest level, and it became difficult for me – winning is not the issue – to win a 4 seed in The SEC. It was apparent to me that we were not doing what we built this program to do. I told our players a few minutes ago. We talked about choices, and most of us know the obvious right and wrong – it’s easy – but, executing what is right is difficult. I thought about it, tried to spin it, and it would not spin (Andy Landers has always called it like it is.) It is emotional for me. Having the conversation with our staff and with our players is the most difficult part of all of this for me; you ask such “difficult friqin’ questions.”
I have plenty of fire and energy. Playing hard having fire and energy, you should not come to party if you do not have effort and attitude; but although I have still have lots of fire and effort and energy, we’re not playing smart. Andy Landers refused to discuss what this program needs – not going there. Do I have more regrets than I have good feelings ? No. We played in the NIT in 1981 and won it all, but not 2015 to be the 63rd best team in the nation. That’s not what we do here. That’s not what I am here for. It’s not what I am used to. Not what I expect of myself in coaching them. Are we one of the 62 best teams in the nation ? Sure we are, but I think it’s far fetched to think we earned a bid, with some of the bad losses and the losing streak at the end of the season.
We are not built to play through NIT now to be 63rd best team. Not me. That’s not what I do. It’s not what I expect of myself. If you care – as long as people know that you care, they’ll do anything for you. Through the years, we worked really really hard at that, and it became a contest to see who cared more about the players and staff here for me, and for the players to care about us too. It was a wonderful contest that lasted 36 years.
But, this team is not playing competitively. The fans have been terrific. ( I never missed a game on TV in 36 years. ) I watched us this year every game on TV and we were not competitive, and horrible at shooting the ball and shot selection. We were selfish. We did not step-up for our teammates. Everyone cried. It’s heart rending that Andy Landers takes early retirement at 62.
Had he been given a gym in 36 years – the gym was nearly 20 years’ old and built to be a cow palace, not a basketball gym – when he started here 36 years’ ago – he could have some of the in-state top elite players here to give this team the lifeblood it was in fact totally missing this year.
It’s devastating that this team was this bad. 21 years since he did not make the NCAA Tournament. Only 3 in 36 years did not make the NCAA Tournament. I have little confidence that Greg McGarity and Jere Morehead will hire the right coach for our program, which is by all accounts one of the 6 best programs in the United States of America – thanks to no one but Andy Landers. Andy Landers will not tell you that he cannot recruit the very elite players to such a gym. I am here. I will say it to you, for him. There is NOTHING he can do about it. It’s tough. I am sad for our Lady Bulldogs that this is how we let Andy Landers down this year. And, make no mistake about it, this team let us all down. I wrote very little about the team. There are very few entries by me about it, and each are marked, in the category Lady Bulldogs. Easy to read them. Easy to know as a letterman myself, that this team did not play smart at all. One would have thought they would’ve had at least a competitive team – something to be proud of; but, frankly, they jacked the ball up caring nothing about our tradition.
Only 4 conferences have done better than The SEC in men’s basketball this season. We were the 3rd best team in The SEC.
Michigan State has played 15 games against NCAA Tournament teams this season, and has beat Indiana, Iowa, Purdue, Indiana again, Maryland, and Ohio State. 6-9 vs NCAA Tournament teams this season. That is a lot better than we’ve accomplished.
Mark Fox has played 8 games against NCAA Tournament teams this season, and has beat Ole Miss twice. 2-6 vs NCAA Tournament teams this season. Our strength of schedule was actually very good at # 40 SoS and RPI rank of # 37.
Michigan State’s strength of schedule was outstanding at # 8 SoS and RPI rank, therefore, of # 23.
As you watch all these NCAA Men’s Basketball Tourney games, remember that the last time we hosted an NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament was 44 years’ ago because the Stegosaurus is not top-notch. Despite this, Mark Fox has taught his players he can recruit to such a outdated, not competitive venue, to play basketball. Our team is not without talent.
Michigan State is supposed to win, but the game is supposed to be close – unlike the game against # 2 SEC Arkansas in the SEC semi-final game, who lost big time to 38-0 Kentucky, ranked the # 1 team in The entire nation. Again. Kentucky has a top gym. Kentucky recruits top talent, therefore. Players want to play there.
Only 4 conferences got more NCAA Tourney bids than The SEC.
The SEC finds only 4 conferences with a higher Conference RPI.
The Lady Bulldogs will miss The Big Dance for only the 3rd time in the entire history. It has been more than 2 decades since we last missed The NCAA Women’s Tournament. We will play in the Women’s NIT. That bracket has not been released. The Lady Bulldogs suffer from the same venue here the men do, and it dampens our recruiting efforts just as much as the football program prospers here in recruiting because Sanford stadium is considered one of the top football venues.
Michigan State shoots the ball better than we do, defends better than we do, rebounds better than we do, has a better turnover margin than we do, is more selfless with the basketball than we are, while we hold a comfortable margin over Michigan State at the charity stripe and we hold slim margins over them in blocks and steals.
We have a horrible loss to Georgie tek, who probably is firing their coach today.
Players on this team, who seemingly could not play a hoot 6 years’ ago, now look polished on the court for us. This speaks well to Mark Fox teaching his players to play the game, and we do not suffer off-court bad news in men’s basketball with discipline issues.
These players represent Mark Fox well on and off the court.
Mark Fox has 11 who have started for him this season. He gives his recruits a chance to get in the games and make their mark. This has been a hallmark of Mark Fox here that he lets his guys get out there and prove what they can and cannot do. I believe all the players feel that he gives them a chance.
Basketball is much faster-paced game than football, and you need to give your players a blow in basketball.
Thornton, Marcus has learned a lot here in his 6 years here now, and looks pretty good out there. He does have a lot of fouls as does Mann, Charles. Both are adept underneath and high post.
Frazier, J.J. is a shooter who you really have to be proud of. All 5 of these players are capable of a double-double, and JJ Frazier and Kenny Gaines are capable of triple-doubles. You see JJ Frazier and Kenny Gaines both at the point. Kenny Gaines will post-up his player, driving the lane while typically unless on fast breaks, you see JJ Frazier sink the deep 3. I mean deep.
We can get a team in foul trouble if they are not as deep as we are.
Maten, Yante will be one of the team leaders next year, and has been a source of much pride to all of us already. He is dynamite inside, and is a fierce rebounding machine. He also leads the team in blocked shots. He will be a starter in a lot more games next year than the several he started for us this season.
Parker, Juwan is a key contributor off the bench and like all the others above, hits his free throws at a high clip as well.
This is really a well-coached team. Folks like Mark Fox too. He is very animated and into the games with high energy always. He calls it like it is. I respect that.
Look for these 9 to do well Friday afternoon 12 :40 p.m. in Charlotte.
We will not win, but we are not supposed to.
Marcus Thornton was the 34th Scout.com Power Forward nationally.
Kenny Gaines was the 29th best Rivals Shooting Guard nationally.
Yante Maten is highly touted nationally from Michigan.
Juwan Parker was the 39th Rivals Shooting Guard nationally.
Cameron Forte is highly touted nationally.
J.J. Frazier is highly touted nationally.
Charles Mann is highly touted nationally.
Kenny Paul Geno was highly touted nationally.
As you can see, there is not really any huge big star on this team. We do not have a single player who was ranked even in the top 25 in his position nationally. This is a very good basketball team who have been taught very well how to play the game here by Mark Fox.
If we had just one top player in the state of Georgia who had joined this team, Mark Fox would be a God.
As it is, he is blamed for having taught these men how to play the game properly as team players on a team without a single best in the nation player. I like these players. This is a solid basketball team. We just have to recruit better in-state. That starts with a proper gym for them to be proud of wanting to play in. It also would attract more attendance to the games here at home.
I have no question in my mind that we hold back both our men’s and women’s basketball programs with the Stegosaurus.
I am very thankful for all these very good basketball players to come here to play for us, and I am proud of the manner in which they represent Mark Fox.
Andy Landers emptied the bench in our SEC Home Opener, after having lost 2 games in a row – following our 12-0 start to the season. Shacobia Barbee seems to be recovering from her injury 3 games ago when she was slammed to the floor in brute-fashion, knocking her out of that game. The Lady Bulldogs began on a 9-0 run, and never looked back. Marjorie Butler picked-up her game and drove the lane some in route to 4 assists to only 1 turnover – a fine showing; but she did take shots and missed them all again. Need to work on that. A smart gal, Marjorie Butler needs to dish once driving the lane. A shooter, she is not. Really no point guard is, not really.
4 January 2015
Mackenzie Engram had an impressive performance in front of the home crowd and national TV audience in HDTV, turning in 6 strong rebounds all on the defensive glass – seemingly looking for the ball on offense and not seeing many shots miss by The Lady Bulldogs this afternoon. She also turned-in 9 points including a beautiful 3-point shot. She should have had 2 assists and they were awesome looks underneath, and added 2 blocks.
Conspicuously missing was Erika Ford. No word was given that her struggles recently are something that is bothering her. She is mighty important to this team, and I look for a quick return to the line-up so all 13 can play maybe next game.
Halle Washington came in off the bench and turned in 67 % shooting from the field. Wonderful. She also had several rebounds, and an assist but did have 5 turnovers, before fouling out.
Jasmine Carter added 50 % from the field on 2 of 4 shooting. This is exactly what our bench must do in league action.
Andy Landers fought loudly for Hannahkohl Almire‘s floater as the shot clock expired at 21 seconds to go in the game, but they spent several minutes and could not determine to put her basket up. I thought the basket was good. The replay didn’t show much. It’s such an old gym. The facility must be upgraded very soon. Please.
Terry Godwin’s older sister got in the game. Terryuana Godwin is on scholarship, as I previously reported on this blog. They are very close, and Terry perhaps one of the nation’s best football players.
Krista Donald did not miss a shot, and sitting there, we thought maybe you guys read my blog and were going to feed her, finally; but, you quit getting her the ball ?
Tiaria Griffin is our shooting guard, and she led all scorers with 16 points on 7 for 11 from the field, including five shots from behind the arc. Impressively, she kept driving the lane for baskets, several after stealing the ball and running the length of the court.
Merritt Hempe kept driving the lane as well. Everyone drove the lane. Merritt Hempe would drive and score as well, adding 7 rebounds and 15 points, on only 2 turnovers. Mighty nice. Adding an assist, Merritt Hempe stepped-up to the free throw line and sunk 9 of 10 there.
Andy Landers had beat Alabama 23 straight times until last season, so we really wanted to win this game and it showed.
Andy Landers 856 wins just here at UGA, is undefeated at home thanks to his stifling defense he insists on. At one point in the game, up by double-digits, he came out of his seat when they scored once. He quickly called a time-out and really had at it about defensive feet work. For the game, as always, The Lady Bulldogs held Alabama to only 30 % from the field, while hitting on all cylinders including the bench for 46 % from the field for us.
Next up is Missouri here at home for us at 7 pm Thursday 8 January 2015 on SEC Network channel 892 HD TV Comcast.
Andy Landers is far more likely to win the games than Mark Richt, although he has a less impressive facility contributing to not having as many top recruits as Mark Richt. More with less, that is the definition of coaching.
Marjorie Butler, the worst 3-point shooter on the team, took 7 more 3-point shots last night in route to losing the game on the road at Starkville – a fine team in their own right and we knew that going-in. For the season now, Marjorie Butler has taken 25 three-point shots and made 4 for 16 % shooting from the behind the arc. Why ?
After starting the season 12-0, the Lady Bulldogs have fallen twice in a row now on the road against ranked teams because we cannot shoot the ball, and the people taking the shots are the ones least likely to make them. Our Center drifted outside last night to take three more 3-point shots herself. Merritt Hempe made none, and for the season now is 1-8 an even more paltry 12 % three-point percentage.
Between them they took 10 three-point shots and made 2, slightly better than their average for the entire season; and, exactly what they and everyone else besides themselves expected them to make of 10 three-point shots. It cost us the game.
Despite out-rebounding Mississippi State 43-38, we shot 21 three-point shots – missing 16 costing us the game.
To compound our issues, Marjorie Butler refused to drive the lane and dish to Merritt Hempe – instead settling for long shots jacking the ball up like she is our best shooter which complicated the matters then when she also as a direct result never shot a single free throw. This is exactly what a point guard does not do.
It is rare for a point guard to be able to also shoot the ball. Her job is to drive the lane, get fouled, and dish – to create plays. Instead, jacking the ball up like that, causes nothing but dissention on the team. And, mounting losses with the tough SEC slate we face.
Erika Ford came in from the bench, and for the 2nd consecutive game – both losses – threw gasoline on the fire making only 2 of 12 shots from the field and nearly fouling out. No offense, no defense, fouls, no assists and turnover. This is unlike Erika Ford, and it has directly led as well to our 2-game losing streak now, going into tomorrow’s contest on Comcast 884 at 1 pm against Alabama.
This does not bode well for us. It’s a shame we need to recruit shooters for a team who has shooters, but the ball hogs with the ball want to jack it up instead.
If it were a men’s game, someone would take them out back and settle it.
I am frustrated with the shooting not only from the 3-point line, but also both from the field and the charity stripe.
We, as a team, cannot shoot the ball because the ones who do get their hands on the ball, jack it up and miss.
It is going to be a long season, if we do not learn from now 2 consecutive losses from the wrong shooters taking all the shots and missing them, while failing to drive and dish the ball off to the big men underneath. Krista Donald for example. Get her the damn ball.
Or, dish it back after driving the lane to Tiaria Griffin. If you are incapable of driving the ball to the lane and dishing underneath or back-out, then ask to sit down. You’re embarrassing your teammates with your ball hog attitude, poor shooting, failing to do your duty, and losing us game after game.
I said this after the last loss, and instead of correcting any of it, bull-headed, you go right back out there and not only do it again, but worse this time – even more profound.
Surely, you can step back and evaluate your own game. You don’t need me to tell you again and again.
You are on target to graduate. You’re not stupid.
Pardon me for calling it like it is.
Andy Landers I am certain keeps telling you this ?
We were ahead 41-39. We lost by 19. We could not shoot the ball and rather than getting the ball inside to our big men, we kept shooting and shooting and shooting and missing. It was not their defense, because we missed all kinds of free throws, again, today. I had to listen to the game on the Internet live by going to http://www.georgiadogs.com/collegesportslive/?media=467565
It was not pretty.
Now, the flight back from Newark, and thankfully that is not too bad. Next game is SEC season opener Friday. I would not want to be Mississippi State.
We made less than a third of our shots today. You will not win any games against anyone shooting like that.
Shacobia Barbee was 1 of 7 from the field.
Marjorie Butler had more turnovers than assists. She also missed all her shots from the field. I am sorry Marjorie but this was a team already in the Top 25 RPI and we’re not. You cannot have that kind of a game. We might have to turn to some younger players at point.
You really haven’t done much there, and you’ve been here a while now.
5 players came in off the bench to do something about the game, lost on a 2-25 run. How do we score 2 points while giving up 25 when you are ahead ladies ?
Very disappointing listening to the game.
Pachis Roberts is the only bench player who came in and did not throw gasoline on the fire.
Get the ball inside when the gym is that old and the rims that unkind.
Figure it out.
Pass the ball to someone who can shoot.
You did not pass the ball to Krista Donald, any of you. Not once. I am smarter than that.
Tabatha Richardson-Smith for Seton Hall had half as many field goals herself as the entire starting 5 and all the bench players for us.
She was lights out at both ends of the court shooting the ball. We never covered her.
We need to bring in a scoring threat.
Andy Landers was fit to be tied.
There was no string he could pull.
GATA Lady Bulldogs.
Just because this is about the only game not on TV, is no reason to mail it in.
This is the wrong time of the year for this type of performance, and it will cost you in the polls, while Seton Hall is going to move up into the Top 25 Polls along with their Top 25 RPI.
This loss is going to cost us in NCAA Tournament seeding.
Blown-out in New York.
I think I would have told you on the flight up that the winning team wins a free dinner on Mulberry Street Little Italy. I wonder if the NCAA allows that, if it were my team ?
It would have cost $5,000 and would have delayed us getting home. As it is the short flight was a long flight home.
And, from my favorite city, you did not even get to see.
Those there saw you, and you looked like the gals from New York play better basketball than us.
A lot better.
Better get with it.
If the starting 5 are jacking it up and missing, do not come-in off the bench and do more of the same.
Figure it out.
Surely you know who can hit their shots, right ?
Dish the ball.
Drive the lane.
Do not foul.
Andy Landers does not have a losing record against many teams, and this is a team we might well face in the NCAA Tourney, now a losing record against Seton Hall – despite the men knocking-off their men, here the other day.
We do not shoot the ball very well.
I can shoot better than that. You should be ashamed of yourselves that you shoot that poorly. Don’t you practice the shots you are going to take in the game ?
Practice them some more and don’t take shots you are not practicing.
Basketball is a game where you throw the ball through the hoop.
Well, it’s off to Starkville 4pm Friday the 2nd, and that game is not on TV either.
The rest will be.
I guess that is the only consolation to 12-1 record is that the game was not on TV.
Have a purpose when you shoot the ball, please ladies.
Andy Landers 935-306 and 75.34 win percentage in his 39th season talked after the game how Michigan State purposely made it a free-throw contest with their strategy to foul our ladies, but we hit our free throws and Michigan State drops now to 1-4 against us all-time. When Mark Richt has a 75.34 win percentage after 39 seasons, let me know ? Mark Richt is 73.22 win percentage, and only 68.48 after 2007 – the 2nd half of the Mark Richt era. What Mark Richt did 8 to 14 seasons’ ago is not nearly as relevant as what he’s doing now – which is NOT good as the # 20 team nationally after 2007 in won/lost. All Louisville has is a defense.
Andy Landers, inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame coincidently 2007, improves to 10-0 knocking-off this poor sportsmanship ranked team. Suzy Merchant would never get away with her whining about her own strategy of purposely fouling us and sending us to the free throw line, criticizing the officiating after getting their butts beat by our gals. Shacobia Barbee is our leading scorer, our best player, and leads us in 7 categories, but when she was driving to the basket, Jasmine Hines left her man, and under-cut Shacobia Barbee, ending her day only 3 minutes into the 2nd half. Georgia controlled the game from the outset and the game was never in doubt.
Shacobia Barbee had built us such a big lead, that even purposely fouling us, only got Michigan State back to a 9-point loss – their 2nd loss of the season. Andy Landers recruits very well from Detroit and always has.
I look for the Big 10 to punish Suzy Merchant, Michigan State coach of 9 years, for her criticism and poor sportsmanship after the game.
Andy Landers does not get into that kind of crap. Hard-nosed and defensive-minded, Andy Landers has built his reputation not on recruiting, but on damned discipline on and off the court. His gals graduate, all of them. He puts up with no bullshit from his gals, and gets in their grills on the average about every 5 seconds – all season long.
Demanding and tough, you will not find Andy Landers’ Lady Bulldogs making bad press for UGA. There are only 8 coaches who have won 850 Division 1 basketball games at one school, and Andy Landers is set to pass 2 more of the biggest names in college basketball history shortly now.
Shacobia Barbee is expected back next game. Maybe their coach will not send out the goon squad to undercut a lady on her way to a lay-up, nor send her troops out to purposely foul, and then cry wolf afterwards.
Mark Richt, who at one point had a 81 percent win percentage here, has dropped-off considerably the 2nd half of his career here. Not so with Andy Landers, who does it the right way on and off the court – despite the fact that he would benefit greatly from having facilities anywhere near the resources and facilities handed to Mark Richt.
Mark Richt is a better recruiter than Andy Landers, as a direct result thereof.
But, Mark Richt is not the no-nonsense type coach Hall of Fame Andy Landers is.
The nation’s 1st team to 10 wins, Andy Landers has 27 games on national TV this season. I’ve watched all the Lady Bulldogs’ Basketball games my entire lifetime. The SEC Network carried the game at 4 p.m. Sunday and carries all the Lady Bulldogs’ games this season.
Mark Richt nor Andy Landers have ever either won the national championship.
One is laid-back and trophy for everyone, and the other as tough as nails and in their faces. One stays in the news for bad press of recruits also recruited by every other coach. It’s not that Mark Richt recruits the wrong element. He simply does not have the intestinal fortitude to instill discipline like Andy Landers, and as a result, Mark Richt has all these issues while Andy Landers is completely the opposite.
68.48 percent win percentage after 2007 for Mark Richt is all directly resultant from not recruiting guys no one else wanted, because they were; but, had they gone elsewhere, they might have had a coach who gave a shit. And, took charge. And, taught them to obey the rules. Perhaps our best player, Mackenzie Engram was benched for making a basket today. She instantly was taken off the court, blessed-out on national TV at the top of his lungs, nose-to-nose and dogged on the bench all because her game is an inside game and she was not going toward the basket, but fading away. She nearly didn’t get back on the court, recording only 11 minutes.
Mackenzie Engram is my hero, and her older brother from Powder Springs, is Tight End at Ole Miss. A fine-looking gal, she tallied only 1 rebound and 1 of 3 from the field including 0-1 from 3-point range – worth 3 points – for only 2 points and 1 rebound in 11 minutes’ action.
Andy Landers was making a point.
Mark Richt tells players he turns his back on and kicks-off the team here, he loves them.
1 gets it.
I am certain that Mark Richt cringes to watch Andy Landers get after his gals like he does. All day, everyday.
Andy Landers averages 25-win seasons here at Georgia for now his 36th season here.
Andy Landers does not have a cushy damn job, like 1 who will go unnamed.
# 14 Mark Richt faces Todd Grantham and # 21 Louisville in something called a Belk Bowl, 150 miles away on December 30 at 6:45 pm, and Todd will have Tony Grantham coaching his inside linebackers but will not have Josh-Harvey Clemons or Shaq Wiggins until next season. Both, excuse me all 3, stayed in the bad press here for Mark Richt. Tony is Todd’s brother who he tried to get hired here, too. Louisville, who has an “indoor practice facility” of sorts – pretty much a hut, joined the ACC this season, and is unremarkable except their defense.
Louisville, with the same 9-3 record as Mark Richt, but just does not have the resources and facilities, is coached by Bobby Petrino. Perhaps you remember him here in Atlanta where he bolted from the Falcons jilting them, and adored his motorcycle and motorcycle bimbo ? I have pictures of all that up on my blog here awhile ago now.
The Prime Time Game that Tuesday night features two different 5-Loss teams Maryland and Stanford in something called the Foster Farms’ Bowl in Santa Clara California. Oh, boy. 2nd fiddle to that ! All the bowl games again this season are on ESPN channels, except for 2 lone ABC games.
The PAC-12 failed to send six (6) of their teams to a bowl game, while The Mighty SEC has only Vandie and Kentucky not bowling. That means Florida is going to a bowl game, this season, for a change. South Carolina is too.
We’ve never been to the damned Belk Bowl.
I hope we never go again.
I wish we weren’t going now.
No SEC team has ever played in the weenie “bowl.” It was formerly called the Continental Tire and then the Meineke Bowl. It is played at the Carolina Panthers’ stadium with a capacity only of 74,455. Charlotte, dead of Winter. Joy. I’d say we got the shaft, but I think more like it’s Mark Richt who got the shaft. It does add another different Bowl Game we’ve been to, and we lead the nation at that.
3 of the last 4 bowl games, Mark Richt has lost. True to form in his 2nd half of his career here.
They do have salt in Charlotte, unlike Atlanta – so ice is not an issue getting to the game – less than 2 hours for us.
The bowl has been an ACC tie-in.
The bowl paid $ 1,700,000 last year with an attendance of only 45,211 and a 3.1 Nielsen Rating.
The only SEC teams playing before us this “bowl” season are 6-6 South Carolina and 6-6 Arkansas.
It’s a slap in the face to DISNEYdawgs.com who told us on sanctioned blogs that we might still play in one of the 7 Big Bowl Games, as lately as just yesterday. Want to be sanctioned ? Come up with some bullshit like that. You will find my reply at the bottom of said sanctioned blog. “Er, Uh, no will shall not play in one of the 7 Big Bowl Games this season sir,” I replied to his blog yesterday.
So, 12 SEC teams go bowling and only two 6-6 teams (one of whom beat us – er uh, beat Hutson Mason) play before we do.
This sport is not known for wuss coaches.
What sport is ?
Let’s brag some more on his once long-ago 81 % win percentage, disregard his 68 % win percentage the 2nd half of his career here, and let’s get all excited because well it’s Todd and Tony Grantham !
Mark Richt could not stomach the non-Christian attitude that Todd Grantham exhibits, only. They butted heads nearly every day. Mark Richt could not stand Todd Grantham.
We were told by Todd Grantham that he left to up-grade himself to Bobby Petrino from Mark Richt and to upgrade himself from here where he did not have an Indoor Practice Facility.
We were also told how great Louisville was going to be this season.
There are 10 Georgia boys from here on their roster, but the 2 former Bulldogs’ kicked-off sort of like Bobby Petrino was from The SEC after multiple arrests and suspensions here, do not begin their career there until next season. I do still say Shaq Wiggins was not kicked-off as reported by SicEmDawgs, but transferred after his arrest last January.
How come they are called cardinals and Stanford who plays Prime Time after them, are called Cardinal ?
Because Stanford’s mascot is the color.
Don’t get confused by the bird.
That’s what I’m flipping Mark Richt.
It seems I have quite a following – folks who do not want to write having not read what I have to say on the topic.
Or, be lambasted.
And, so we come to the close of another Bulldogs’ year. Another year of arrests, bad press, suspensions, kicked-off players and coaches we have to face, and another worthless bowl game – one very much at the bottom end of the 39 bowl games. And, another year by God Above of losing to teams who are not as talented as we, and not ranked even with their win over us.
Lesser teams going to better bowl games.
“Lesser” coaches doing better than our own $ 3.5 million dollar Christian doing it the right way – man.
Alabama gets Ohio State, who jumps TCU because TCU played the # 69 strength of schedule, while Ohio State played in the Big 10 Championship Game and that alone improved their SoS all the way to # 21. For 23 years, The SEC has said how important this Championship Game we started is a huge boost enabling our teams to play for the national championship. That we play a tougher game. The Big XII bragged they did not want a championship game. TCU’s opponents are 57-56 on the season. Ohio State’s now are 76-57. See any difference there committee when you told us strength of schedule would be an important component ?
Click : Football, then click MISC reports, then click strength of schedule.
# 12 SoS Alabama
# 21 SoS Ohio State
# 35 SoS Florida State
# 45 SoS Oregon
# 55 SoS UGA 59-52 as it turns out, our schedule was easy – only we inexplicably lost to 3 less-talented
Official NCAA Strength of Schedule.
Louisville, by the way, # 66 SoS.
Therefore, rightfully, TCU dropped 3 places (sound like UGA 2007 ?) and Ohio State JUMPED them.
Booby prize is Ohio State gets to play Alabama.
Ohio State has played 12 bowl games against The SEC, and NEVER WON.
Ok, so Alabama gets the Sugar Bowl bid against # 4 Ohio State, whom UGA would beat like a damn drum, take names, and spit out.
FSU likewise and I am on record we’d beat Oregon I said all season, face-off in the OTHER semi-final Rose Bowl.
Then, The SEC’s Alabama beats their fannies.
The bottom line on year 1 is that there were NOT 4 teams. That the committee had to come-up with 4 only meant # 5 and # 6 were VERY CLOSE to # 4.
According to the committee, were it just a 2-team play-off as previous 16 years, Jameis Winston would be sitting his dumbass down.
Let’s follow this logic. TCU # 69 SoS sits their lonely asses down so # 21 SoS Ohio State instead can have their brains beat in by yet another SEC team in a bowl game. The committee will learn from this, and soon not make such a match-up ever again, right ?
They’re people. So, when they are given H-E-L-L for pitting Ohio freaking State against The SEC yet again, I get to say I told you so.
Along with 350 million others.
But, # 45 SoS Oregon of the lousy PAC-12 with 6 non-bowl teams to our only 2, is the # 2 team and would’ve played Alabama any other year prior to 2014 season, according to the damned committee. FSU undefeated # 35 SoS would’ve stayed home, so they travel out West to face the cupcake city scheduling Oregon in the stinking PAC-12. The SEC will have the most bowl wins AGAIN this season, as always. # 45 SoS, seriously ? # 45 SoS is the 2nd best team in the nation and in all prior years, would’ve left undefeated FSU out in the damn cold, committee ?
Are you really that stupid ?
Like I say, there were NOT 4 teams 2014 season.
I will buy there were 3.
So, 4-team play-off fits fine.
Notwithstanding the bullshit hidden not public voting of the committee to prop-up useless as tits on a boar Ohio State and state unequivocally were they in charge all previous years, applied as their logic this season, undefeated FSU would have sat on their collective asses liar Jimbo Fisher and all and watched the game, like Mark Richt.
If it’s transparent, and all votes are public as we demanded of the lying cheating coaches in their votes of bullshit, we might actually learn something about all this hogwash.
As it is, suffice it that FSU would’ve been sent packing. Undefeated, defending national champions – sent home without a chance.
+1 therefore works.
To save the souls of the worst committee put together in the history of mankind and we’re to understand to stand as is for 3 years.
I believe it should be FSU against Alabama because (1) the committee said SoS Almighty God ! and because (2) Oregon had a seriously easy row to hoe at # 45 SoS and STILL LOST.
You with me on this ?
But, as it is +1 I have no qualms. TCU ? Bullshit on the Big XII and purposely not having a conference championship because they want to will all their monies to Texas Longhorns. Choke-la-homa. Baylor. TCU. Texas. Hogwash !
# 82 SoS Baylor
# 69 SoS TCU
# 64 SoS Choke-la-homa
Hells, Bells, Vandie plays a better schedule strength than ALL of them.
I believe all real college football fans, know the Big XII has been given all these opportunities, like Ohio State, and blown their future chances, thereby.
I just have to comment on this POWER 5 bullshit. Again, Power 5 is something created by these weenie conferences to adjust their glasses and say it’s almost as good as a Xerox commercial for The Mighty SEC !
If the committee is going to vote like THIS, then they can have ALL their votes public like we made the Coaches’ Poll do when these same Big XII coaches were all voting as a block for their OWN.
Last Coaches’ Poll prior to final poll made public – the 1 used to determine who WE as fans of this damn game wanted to see in the nc game.
All of a sudden, Duke at # 25 by Steve Spurrier because he coached there once, ends.
New year, new set of rules, new set of problems
Last year, it was Richard Billingsley and Jeff Sagarin et al. Now, we have to go through all this again with a different damn set of friqin’ experts telling us who is and who isn’t going to play in our nc game. A game WE the fans insisted on.
But, I see no reason for 8-teams. Not when there are only 3 this season.
Not because of THIS YEAR.
Maybe, however, because of the stinking committee !
Non-sequitur decisions by the committee !
Hidden, smoke-filled room, decisions that defy their own poll of just a friqin’ week ago.
Strength of Schedule in Football shows, in fact, that we have played the # 42 Strength of Schedule 2014 to-date, according to the Official NCAA SoS and now we play Georgie tek # 46 SoS in 3 days’ time.
Looking at the schedule pre-season I figured South Carolina and Florida would be better than 6-win teams 2014. I figured Georgie tek’s SoS was worse than our own and it is.
Every year, there are other SoS listings updated through the latest games like the Official NCAA Toughest Schedules’ Rankings. NCAA always has their own Official NCAA SoS for you as well.
Other observations from the Official NCAA SoS is that Florida State has played the # 51 SoS 2014. Duh. For the whole entire season, only 53-47 is the combined won/lost record of all 2014 opponents for FSU. That includes Florida’s 6-win season and does not include the ACC CHUMPionship Game yet, but it will for the Play-Off Selection Committee prior to their decisions. They told us they will weigh this.
Florida’s SoS is # 48 and only a 6-win season. Horrible showing, right ?
Southern California’s SoS is only # 53 and they have another 4-Loss Season.
Southern California has the Most NFL Draft Picks in the Mark Richt Era 2001-2014 and Mark Richt is 2nd best nationally. He also is 2nd best nationally in average recruiting rankings 2001-2014 with his average # 9 while Georgie tek averages # 52.
It shows that Hutson Mason has 1825 Passing Yards on the season for 11 games, losing like last year to unranked Nebraska, losing this year to unranked 6-win South Carolina and losing to unranked 6-win Florida who fired their coach the week after he beat Mark Richt to drop Mark Richt’s record against our # 1 Rival to 5-9. Hard to feel good about yourself with a losing record that poor against your # 1 Rival.
Is there any question that Florida is a bigger Rival for us than Georgie tek is for us ?
Now, Georgie tek does consider us their # 1 Rival by a long wide margin with no other Rival at all. We’re the only team mentioned in their Fight Song, which is the Most Famous Fight song, nationally – maybe Internationally.
It promotes Poor Sportsmanship among the fan base at Georgie tek.
You have seen this all week on every blog.
Every blog where, like here, everyone’s posts are posted. We had one run on to this blog and brag they’d beat us 55-7.
He based this upon Florida’s rushing total against us 3 weeks’ ago.
He does not take into account they did well early only to have Hutson Mason again not stretch the field and failed to answer anything, sending the defense right back out there to bail his ass out to the tune of 31 unanswered points.
Unanswered points means that our offense failed to answer.
That’s what that means.
Last season, Hutson Mason did not lead the come-back against Georgie tek. In fact, he had another performance which could’ve lost us another game with him as our Starting Quarterback losing to yet another unranked team. It was Todd Gurley II who scored all the consecutive points against Georgie tek. They got off to a big lead and then Todd Gurley II put us on his back.
The score was nothing to 20 for Georgia tek with 35 seconds remaining in the 1st Half last year because Hutson Mason forgot to show-up. He does that. He is not like little Aaron Murray who called his own number 51 percent of the total plays. He is not like little Aaron Murray who had 10 percent of his plays result in interceptions, fumbles and sacks – all at the very worst moment, either. Hutson Mason suffers from trying to minimize those MISTAKES by not being like that, and a direct result, has only 1825 Passing Yards on the season.
Ray Goff and Jim Donnan all averaged more Passing than Hutson Mason has.
For the team, including the damn few plays either Brice Ramsey or Faton Bauta have been allowed to even play in the games Hutson Mason has started and played every minute of – not preparing a Quarterback for 2015 – since 2014 is shot to hell in a hand basket with the losses to 6-win Florida and 6-win South Carolina 2014 already. For the team now 2014, Mark Richt’s chosen quarterbacks & including Todd Gurley II’s longest pass play of the 2014 season for us, have thrown for a grand total of 2,205 yards only. This on top of his performance against Nebraska 2013 season, he also lost to an unranked team.
2,205 yards passing 2014 for UGA. Who would’ve thunk it ?
We could’ve taken advantage of our talent and especially at running back by throwing the football downfield, and stretching the field in so doing 2014. Never in the history of man, has there ever been a more wasted season on that front for us this season.
1825 yards passing is all Hutson Mason has to show for 2014.
Other than his
Todd Gurley II, you recall led the comeback against Georgie tek, falling behind 20 to nothing, scoring 4 Touchdowns against Georgie tek, including having the ball on every single play of BOTH OVERTIMES.
For the season, Hutson Mason has 38 rushes for 23 yards.
He just isn’t a college quarterback.
Mark Bradley says he is.
In fact, yesterday, Mark Bradley AJ-C said that Hutson Mason is A GREAT QUARTERBACK.
In the last 20 years, including Ray Goff and Jim Donnan years in addition to the Mark Richt era, this is the most God-Freaking-Awful Starting Quarterback other than Joe Tereshinski III in 2006 and 2009 with Joe Cox.
Both were, ALSO, 5th year Senior Starters for Mark Richt who like Hutson Mason NEVER GOT ANY snaps to prepare him, either.
Might as well have played Brice Ramsey all season on that point because Hutson Mason did not show me anything last year either, not against Georgie tek, not against Kentucky and not against Nebraska – just like Florida and South Carolina this year.
In fact, it has been a wasted year 2014 because Hutson Mason did not stretch the field all season to take advantage of all these running backs.
Never so tentative a starting quarterback is the damn history of the game.
I do give him credit for not making the myriad of mistakes that Aaron Murray did.
Unfortunately, he WASTED OUR YEAR, just as Joe Cox in 2009 and just as Joe Tereshinski III in 2006.
At least Joe Tereshinski III got YANKED in 2006, sat down, sent to the pines, lost his starting job. 2009, once Joe Cox even with the flu on top of his chronic throwing shoulder, was the only QB to play in the Okie State game who did not make the AP Poll Top 25 that season even with their win over Mark Richt (Joe Cox), 2009 was shot to hell.
Just like 2006.
2010, Mark Richt STARTED a redshirt freshman Quarterback.
2014, he did not, and has not and will not.
Brice Ramsey kind of shot himself in the foot last Saturday aiming the ball on a short crossing route, getting his 1st interception. It could not have been worse for Brice Ramsey, just when he was looking so comfortable back there and threw the deep passes with such aplomb.
It does highlight the difference between Hutson Mason and Aaron Murray and Brice Ramsey, now too.
All off-season, the seed has been planted now in the back of everyone’s mind fresh off seeing him from our seats on an easy throw, take something off the throw and just give the ball away. His interception and all the fumbles by folks Mark Richt had to expect fumbles from – I certainly did – and we ended-up against a 1-AA team with no plus average on the turnovers’ ratio against Charleston Southern University.
Too bad, really. Should have been + 3.
If we were, we’d be # 1 nationally in turnover ratio instead of # 2.
So, after it was 7 to nothing last year against Georgie tek, Hutson Mason
1st went 3 and out, and we punted, which they converted to 10 to nothing FG.
Then, on our next possession with the ball, Hutson Mason threw an Interception. Georgie tek promptly took it in for 17 to nothing. Then, to add fuel to the fire, Hutson Mason then after it was 17 to nothing, fails again to get the 1st down and we punted AGAIN to Georgie tek, who promptly again put up ANOTHER FIELD GOAL to extend their lead to 20 nothing.
I was pissed.
You were satisfied, you run in here and TRY to share with me.
Yeah, right you were.
Damn friqin’ right you were.
Then, Hutson Mason FAILED AGAIN to get the 1st Down and AGAIN we punted.
THIS is what Hutson Mason did against Georgie tek last year.
It should have been 35 to nothing with 38 seconds remaining in the 1st half.
THAT is what happened last year.
Then, Todd Gurley II willed his team to Victory, scoring 4 TD.
I remember thinking when it was 20 to nothing at their lousy as hell stadium, named for college drop-out Bobby Dodd (who dropped-out in college at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville), that we were fortunate our Defense held Georgie tek to only 20 of their should have been 35 to nothing lead.
Todd Gurley II damn sure certainly took advantage of it.
So, the writing was on the wall last year about this Hutson Mason Experiment of Mark Richt – just like his Joe Cox Experiment and his Joe Tereshinski II Experiments as 5th year senior starting Quarterbacks for Mark Richt with ZERO experience, un-played, unproven, and frankly proven to be exactly the opposite of that which Mark Richt tried to quell our concerns with of his glowing praise.
Mark Bradley wrote that bullshit piece so that Mark Richt would talk with him, after his earlier salvos of “it’s Mark Richt’s fault; it’s his team.”
I have no such requirement as I like you read the quotes of Mark Richt. I read every one. And, I watch the video clips and listen to him on the radio.
So, I know Mark Richt and Mike Bobo are BOTH big-time disappointed in Hutson Mason.
Still, he is the only one played. The only one all season. And, NO ONE PREPARED for 2015.
That, since 2014 has been OVER for a month now against Florida.
Bullshit 6-win Florida, who FIRED their coach the week AFTER beating Mark Richt to extend their # 1 Rival Advantage against him to 5-9 Mark Richt vs Florida.
Included all these wins by INFERIOR Florida teams.
Georgie tek is an INFERIOR TEAM.
How inferior ?
# 9 recruits vs # 52 recruits.
2007 we had a similar schedule strength as we have 2014, but our Quarterback managed to throw 10 interceptions and had 3 fumbles, unlike Hutson Mason, and also was sacked 15 times. This is what Hutson Mason does NOT do. Among other plays Hutson Mason does NOT do, such as throwing the ball downfield.
He prefers the 4-yard dinky dunk down pass.
It is ALL he looks for, staring the receiver down, and never going through his progressions despite the criticism ALL YEAR by Mark Richt and by Mike Bobo.
But, rue me for saying the same.
And, you. You too say the same.
2007, we lost to a 6-6 South Carolina who did not even go to a damn bowl game.
2007, we lost to a poor vols’ team, again neither with anywhere near the talent we have, and the vols had a BLOW-OUT win over us 14-35.
I cannot explain the 10 losses by Mark Richt to 10 teams who even with their win over Mark Richt that season, failed to make EITHER the AP or Coaches’ Polls.
That blow-outs like 3 weeks’ ago against Florida and in 2007 to the vols would also be common occurrences nowadays, is just hard to understand given the level of talent we have in the Mark Richt Era, which has not dropped-off at all.
We just take teams lightly, fumble, throw interceptions, get sacked, get blown-out against bitter damn rivals, and just fail to even show-up. We go 3 and out and wait for the suspect defenses we have, to bail our asses out. And, wait for our not so special, special teams to bail us out. Sad, how our offense is actually MARKED WITH THIS.
I do not understand it.
I certainly EXPECT it.
But, I don’t grasp how in the Hell we continue to go out there in big games and fail to convert on 3rd Downs and instead brag on the friqin’ Starting Quarterback.
In addition and in proving the 2nd best # 9 Average Recruiting Class of Mark Richt 2001-2014, Mark Richt ALSO has the 2nd best 81 NFL Draft Picks. This verifies the Average Recruiting Rankings. Southern California, who has the highest Average Recruiting Ranking 2001-2014, is # 1 in NFL Draft Picks too. 83 NFL Draft Picks, Southern California 2001-2014.
Georgie tek average recruiting ranking # 52 for 2001-2014 has only 29 NFL Draft Picks 2001-2014.
There is no excuse for Georgie tek to be ahead of us 20 to nothing, and frankly it should have been 35 to nothing. We were fortunate, no thanks to Hutson damn Mason.
With all this talent.
No different from 2007 and no different from 2002 either.
2002 we got a BCS Bowl Win over a 5-Loss FSU # 24.
2007 we got a BCS Bowl Win over # 19 Hawai’i.
That’s IT for BCS Bowl Wins Mark Richt Era.
All this talent, and frankly NOTHING.
Not a damn freaking thing.
Remember 2002, since we covered 2007 now ?
2002, we LOST to a Florida team who did not even make the Coaches’ Poll Top 25 even after Ron Zook beat Mark Richt. Mark Richt’s Offense that year failed to convert a single 3rd Down Conversion. 0-13.
This is WHO we are. This is WHAT we do.
2014, it’s 6-win Florida and 6-win South Carolina.
It’s frankly so bad that Todd Gurley II said he is sick and tired of losing and being mediocre.
In this week’s latest College Football Poll prior to the last week’s games of this college football regular season, we remain # 9 CFP, while we welcome # 16 Georgie tek, who is ranked WORSE than Auburn at # 15.
Who we blew out.
Forgot to take out Todd Gurley II, but BLEW them OUT.
There are so many teams ahead of prior to the last game of the regular season, that even a blow-out over # 1 Alabama were we to back-in to that game by Arkansas beating Missouri who has played the # 56 Strength of Schedule to Arkansas # 1 SoS 2014, that we cannot possibly be judged in the Top 4 teams in America with these continued on-going BAD LOSSES to not 1 but 2 teams who are 6-win Florida and 6-win South Carolina :
So, we had an easy schedule and LOST to 2 crappy-ass teams.
Excuse me for calling it as it is ladies and gentlemen.
I am NOT happy.
Do NOT feel this is a great season.
It is what I said it would be.
Isn’t it ?
Don’t want to read my posts ? Then what the friq are you doing in here ?
Afraid I am RIGHT ?
Sure I am.
2015, with no Quarterback prepared and without Todd Gurley II whom we WASTED as we WASTED KNOWSHON MORENO, will be MORE of the same.
Will it not ?
One Mark Richt Apologist in the last several weeks remarked to me that I should wait until 2016.
Cannot even get 2014 over, and forget wait until 2015.
2016 he says to me.
Such a damn cushy job Mark Richt has.
Cushy as Hell job.
Satisfied with all this LOSING and being mediocre.
We have not played ANY OF THE TOP 14 TEAMS IN THE LATEST CFP.
If Missouri loses as we all hope, and they might lose to a 6-win team, and if we beat Georgie tek and Alabama beats Auburn, we will not have played even a single team in the College Football Play-Off Poll Top 20.
Then, we hope to play Alabama.
We will NOT have beaten a single team in the Top 20 of College Football Play-Off Final Poll.
If we do beat Alabama, we’d have that one win. Clemson is not likely to remain ranked, Georgie tek is not likely to remain ranked, and Auburn is not likely to remain ranked. As it is, they will be at the tail-end of the Top 25, if at all.
I am NOT raining on our damn parade.
That happened at South Carolina and Florida.
Didn’t it ?
Wake-up and smell the damn roses.
I am NOT disappointed we’re # 9.
I am satisfied with that.
I am not satisfied with playing the # 42 SoS and losing to two 6-win teams.
I do not believe we have a chance in Hell of beating Alabama were Missouri to lose to a 6-win team – something we do around here REGULARLY nowadays, don’t we ?
Number # 9 ?
Who is the Play-Off Selection Committee going to pit us against in our Bowl Game ?
The BCS sure blew all that.
Told us we were # 3 team in 2002 and pitted us against 5-Loss # 24 FSU.
Told us we were the # 2 team in 2007, and pitted us against # 19 Hawai’i.
Bullshit BCS Bowl Game Wins.
Give us a team up there where we are.
I’d love to play Oregon as I am certain we’d beat them.
Let us play them.
Let us play # 2 Florida State !
We’d beat the shit out of Florida State.
Let us play TCU or Ohio State or Baylor.
But, we’d NEVER beat Alabama this year. Their passing game is too good and our passing game is piss poor.
Hutson Mason only has 5 fumbles this year, 15 sacks and 3 interceptions. Compared to what Matthew Stafford and Aaron Murray did, this IS GREAT !
Otherwise, no one will even invite Hutson Mason for an NFL look-see even.
He has proven beyond a shadow of the doubt, as Joe Tereshinski III and Joe Cox before him, that he isn’t getting any consideration. His career is over after the next games.
Never to be seen or heard from ever again, as neither Joe Tereshinski III or Joe Cox have been, either.
All 3 with head-scratching losses here, as well – as 3 so-far for Hutson Mason. 3 unranked teams.
You think Aaron Murray was the master at that ?
It’s been ongoing around here.
Hasn’t it ?
And, it has SHOT EVERY GREAT SEASON !
This year is NOT great.
Beat Alabama and it would be.
Don’t and it will not be.
And, we’d still say as in 2002 and 2007 that the reason we did not do what we could’ve those years, and this if we beat Alabama, is that we LOST to two 6-win teams.
Good Lord !
Everyone else BEAT THEM, but Mark Richt did NOT !
I knew this coming in.
It’s what we do.
YOU argued with ME and said it’s not, and that we ARE great.
Adjust your glasses, and say it’s almost as good as a XEROX.
When you’re not even in the top 25 won/lost records after 2007, and playing Alabama 2014 would pretty much assure Mark Richt of that sitting at # 22 as it is, you’re NOT GREAT.
I do not care what the friq you say.
There aren’t any excuses – so, quit wiggling in your panties trying to think of one or more, per usual.
We had the talent and we WASTED IT.
We had an off-season of NOTHING but BAD PRESS.
We followed that up with the players saying we took Florida lightly, to which Mark Richt replied to the players in the Press with : Shut-up !
Pretty much what you’ve said you told me, isn’t it ?
You will see we’re # 10 Sanford Stadium; but we have watched team after team after team in our own conference add to their stadiums while we stand firm while we too could fill a lot more seats, as they.
Jeff Sagarin has his ratings up, you might enjoy looking at the top 2 teams, including us and Alabama.
So, our schedule is weak, we have 9-2 and we have ruined the season with 2 bad losses.
Next up, Georgie tek – another team out-classed by our recruiting as verified by our NFL Draft Picks – who says all week every post I’ve read that they will beat us handily, when at their own house # 43 attendance to our Top 10 Attendance.
Georgie tek is on NCAA PROBATION in FOOTBALL all 2014, again.
